Are there any SEO Law Alumni who would be willing to share about their program experiences? I've read a lot on the 'SEO Corporate Law' and 'SEO past participants' thread, but it mostly discusses ways to prepare for the interview, the application process, etc. It would be super helpful to hear from alumni firsthand about how they were affected by the program. How has the program shaped your career trajectory? Where most interns offered a 1L job at the end of the internship? Did you find the SEO Institute classes helpful? Did the networking/connections made during the program extend past the internship? Any and all information shared would be greatly appreciated!

I had a great SEO experience. The three most helpful aspects of the program for me include: (1) The demystification of the biglaw environment and resume boost, (2) tapping into a good network of diverse, high achieving law students, (3) the networking opportunities with lawyers at my and other firms.
In terms of my career trajectory, the SEO experience helped me gain more concrete understanding of the various practice groups earlier on in my law school career.
Not many students were offered a 1L job at the end of the internship for two reasons. First, firms are not allowed to engage 1Ls re: summer employment until Dec. 1st. Second, most of the partner firms do not hire 1Ls for the summer. My SEO firm does and I returned as a 1L and will be returning as a 2L.
The SEO institute classes were helpful in that they helped us get back into study mode. I thought the institute was really fun though. Also, we got free E&Es for almost every first year subject which pretty much got me through fall quarter of 1L.
The networking opportunities are amazing. Whether people took proper advantage of them is another matter. Many people have not learned how to network properly and during my SEO summer I was one of those people. If you get the job, take time to learn how to take advantage of the network you're being placed in.
Good luck.
