Natives: Apply to Cornell!

Post by norcal12345 » Fri Jan 24, 2014 11:11 pm

...really. Regular deadline 2/1

If you have over a 155 and a decent GPA, I strongly recommend applying. I have no real logic to support saying 155, but I know it's a number that's been accepted. Even if applying late, Cornell is known to give generous scholarships to diverse candidates.

Of course, I am not speaking from Admissions or the law school and have no formal influence over your application - but we want you here. PM if you have specific questions. If you apply, we'll try and do our best to advocate for you.

By raw numbers, we have the 2nd highest Native American population in the T14 - help us keep it that way.

Also, go to PLSI.

Thanks!

Also, just out of curiosity, what do you consider a decent GPA to be?
That's great! My fingers are crossed for you

To answer your question, I would say that a decent GPA is at or above our average incoming GPA - which I think is around a 3.6. But, there are so many factors to consider that I wouldn't let that stop someone (specifically a NA) from applying. There are simply so few of us out there, you just never know!

Good luck!

I can't tell you what a "decent" GPA is. However, I can tell you that I was accepted with a 3.15 and even received a lovely scholarship.

Thank you for applying and Good Luck!

NA applicants:

If you have applied for 2017 and are still under review or have been waitlisted, please PM me.

Good luck! Wishing you all a great cycle
