3.7/174 Chances?
Hi all,
I'm obviously still in the shaking and crying phase of score shock, but I wanted to get a sense of my chances for T14. Info:
GPA: 3.70 (one semester left, can raise to 3.74-ish)
LSAT: 174
WE: None, but taking a year off after graduation, hopefully to work.
Are scholarships a possibility? I haven't started apps, and I still have time in undergrad to improve in certain areas. I've heard softs are important for URMs. What can I do to make myself a stronger candidate?

Nice ish! You should get into at least one of those.
Do what you can in the interim to get your softs in tact! Congratulations on the score!

Congrats on the fabulous LSAT score!
You should be good at HYS and get big big money from CCN and anywhere else you apply. This woman applied with similar stats two cycles ago (when there were a lot more applicants): http://lawschoolnumbers.com/missflo.
I'm sure you'll do amazingly well! Let us know how it goes!

You might be one of the top AA candidates this cycle. You'll definitely get H, almost certainly S, and no one ever knows what Y wants, but who cares. If you don't want to be president or anything else crazy and just want Biglaw take some advice from a current student. Take the full ride you'll almost certainly get at CCN and never look back. Graduating with 0 debt making 160k is a great thing. Worst case scenerio is that you finish towards the bottom of your class there and still will most likely get a job. At my T14 I don't know any AA's without one. Just something to ponder. Or you could go to HYS and not do shit for 3 years. Up to you, but Congrats!

Naw you don't have to do shit. Work blow ur money on weekends live up life before taking the plunge.edith1921 wrote:Thanks, everyone! This is all a big relief. So I shouldn't stress about softs right now? Does it matter what I do during my year off? I'm not planning on leaving a gaping hole on my resume, but my work experience will likely be far from spectacular. At this point, I just hope to work in an office 9-5 and leave some time for personal development and repaying my sleep debt. Is that okay? Or do I need to publish a book?
