MA Male 3.9x 168

Post by aboutmydaylight » Mon Jul 01, 2013 5:27 pm

-5 LR
-0 LG
-3 RC
-6 LR

June 2013.

My gut is telling me obviously retake in October since my LR is wayyy worse than PT averages (I seriously got -0 -0 on PT 68, timed, test conditions). I'm basically out of test material at this point though so I'm not sure how to even go about it. I know with my numbers I'm looking at a worthwhile school, but is a say 2point bump worth it?

Yes. Clearly you can do better. Remove all doubt by hitting medians. A 2 pt increase would increase your scholarships and chances dramatically.

Agreed with the above. I bet you snag H with what you have now, but why settle when SY are in reach? Retake for full potential.

What was the curve for a 170? The number of questions you missed resulting in a 168 seem like a lot. That seems to be a crazy curve.

I was going to say to make sure to do the H Skype interview wearing what your avatar was wearing, but then I realized you were a dude. That would probably count against you, all in all.

Also, definitely retake. The MA URM boost is crap.

Might be crap, but I bet he still snags H with above a 3.9, and with a 170 plus has legit shot at YS

Edit: the June curve was a -11 I believe

Thanks guys, I'll be retaking in October. Curve was -11, -13 and -14 were both 168s. My PT average was around -8 so I'm certain I can do better, I just need consistency. I've regularly gotten -0s on sections, but for some reason it never all happens on one test; there's always something that screws me over. That LR score felt like a huge anomaly while the other sections were about what I'm used to, so I guess I'm focusing on that.

Just wanted to say thanks guys. I hit -8 in October which was a 173. Feel much more comfortable with my numbers now and I removed the "what ifs".
