Transferring from the University of Puerto Rico

Post by islandero » Tue Dec 18, 2012 10:32 pm

I'm starting 1L on August at the University of Puerto Rico. I'm looking into trying to transfer to a top-14 after the first year. I've read just about everything there is online about transferring law schools, but I haven't found anything on transferring specifically from a law school in Puerto Rico. Anyone know any success stories?

If I were you, I wouldn't attend the University of Puerto Rico Law School. The probability that you will transfer to a t-14 is almost none and you will have a very difficult time getting a job in Puerto Rico. PR has the highest ratio of lawyers to population in the US. Unless your dad's friend will certainly hire you after graduation I would say you have only one option-don't attend, apply again next cycle, get into a t-14 school.
