Native American LSAT score needed

Post by milosmom » Wed Oct 10, 2012 9:41 pm

I am registered Cherokee, and have a lsdas gpa of 3.61 (in business). I had an extreme anxiety attack in June when I took the LSAT(now medicated) and scored 159. I just retook the LSAT and am nervous. I was PTing between 169 and 171 but I get very nervous on test day.

What schools am I looking at with my June score. What if I at least pulled off 165?

Thanks so much for the help, Im really working myself into a frenzy as I go over my essays and recommendations.

Not going to entertain a sub 160 score, because if you dont beat it this time, the answer is still retake. Wont entertain a hypothetical because you get your new score in a few weeks.

Then why answer if you're not going to entertain these hypotheticals? Also, I've found that LSN is extremely unreliable for NAs.

Hypos take forever. The difference between 158/165/168/171 are vast. Aint nobody got time for that. Just sayin be patient. The scores will be out soon enough.

Retake. If you got a 165 with a 3.61 you'd have a chance almost anywhere, I think. Natives are by far the most under represented minority in academia.

No disrespect, but is it just me or did pretty much ALL Natives get reserve at Columbia? (myself included).

First of all, (as I am sure OP is aware) don't think that simply box checking is going to get you that substantial of a "boost" if you can't supplement it with significant cultural involvement and/or interest in pursing Native law or scholarship at the law school (especially schools with active NALSA chapters, like Columbia) in your PS or diversity statement.

With that said, I scored between 155-157 and got into multiple T-14s (3.7X GPA). So APPLY EVERYWHERE (and apply as soon as possible). For real, there are so few Natives in the T-14 it makes me sad. But I agree that getting over 165 will certainly lock things down.

Good luck
