Chances (possible ED strategy) for Mexican American 2.8 164

Post by SenorGuapo » Sat May 19, 2012 2:06 am

Obviously looking to break into the T14. I am a LGBT Mexican American non-trad with a 2.8 GPA and a 164 (will be retaking in June and possibly Oct), but for the moment I am wondering what my chances are. I also have 10 years of quality work experience and very strong letters of recommendation. What do you guys think? Where should I ED?

According to LSN, At UVA, No one with your numbers are in this year. Several WLs. worst GPA for a URM in this cycle this year is 170/3.0. Last year one 161/3.0 URM got in, but thats it. Im guessing they were rather special. No one else sub 3.0 and sub 170 got in.

At Cornell, this year, atleast 3 URMS that are sub 165 and sub 3.2 are in.

At GULC,this year, two 164/3.0s,a 165/3.1, and a 167/3.0 (all URMs) are in.

Basically, your chances are poor. This should come as no suprise, because your GPA is terrible and your LSAT is several points below all T14 medians. Good luck on the retake. Every additional point will make a huge difference.
