I'm going to be applying for the next cycle straight out of undergrad, I'm thinking T14 and then USC/UCLA/BU/BC but I don't have any real preferences yet. I'm a DI athlete (I don't know if that has any soft value), and I will be interning at a law firm in Boston this summer.
I just retook yesterday to try to get 170+ (I was consistently PTing 173-178 but bombed October) but I want to know where I stand as it is. Any feedback is appreciated!

As an MA female, with your 3.7 (Hopefully this is your LSAC GPA) and a 170+ together with good PS/DS/Recommendations you should be HYS bound. even with a 168 you should at least get one of HYS (especially H). I would recommend you apply to T-10/T14, you can add some T-25 schools if you feel like.
I think you are on the right track...maintain but preferably increase your GPA this semester, work on getting your recommendations this semester/summer holiday. Also work on your personal statement over the summer holiday as well. Submit your apps ASAP (Preferably Sept/Oct) and you should be fine.
Good Luck!!!!

Oh yeah sorry I forgot to specify but yes that is my LSAC GPA, and I'm hoping to increase it to ~3.75 this semester. I'm trying not to get my hopes up about HYS yet - do you (or anyone else reading this!) have any knowledge about scholarships at lower T14/T-25 schools for people with my type of stats? $$ is going to be a big deciding factor for me and I'm guessing HYS would all be sticker unless I did really well on Saturday.

You have an excellent shot at HYS and best of luck on the retake.beebela wrote:I'm guessing HYS would all be sticker unless I did really well on Saturday.
Just as an fyi, HYS do not offer merit aid. They offer need-based grants and have different (but all very good) loan repayment assistance plans ("LRAPs") that can assist you after graduation. Do a little search via TLS and on each of the law schools' admission sites for more info.
