How to add a diversity statement to applications

Post by dmak118 » Mon Dec 19, 2011 10:51 am

Some of the schools that I am applying to do not have an option for a diversity statement on their electronic application. How do I send them my diversity statement? Also, I am an AA male and I am applying to Howard, and I was wondering if I needed to send them a diversity statement as well? FYI, my diversity statement is about me being socioeconomically disadvantaged.

I didn't write my diversity statement until after my applications were all already sent in. I Just emailed them to the admissions office with my LSAC ID in the subject line, and I simply requested them to add this to my file. I only had one objection to doing this (out of the over a dozen schools I sent this to), the rest were happy to accept it.

I would definitely sent the DS to Howard as well. Diversity is more than just skin deep, and I'm sure they would be interested in knowing your socioeconomic background.

Hope this helps...
