PS, DS, AND a Disadvantage Addendum?

Post by livinglaughingloving » Sun Dec 11, 2011 4:08 am

Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on whether submitting a PS, DS, and a socioeconomic disadvantage addendum (for schools who list it as an optional essay) may be too much? The PS I have is 2 pages, DS is about 1.5 and the socioeconomic disadvantage addendum is <1 page. Does anyone know if schools generally look unfavorably on this many pages being submitted? The content of each is distinct with slight overlap between the PS and the socioeconomic disadvantage addendum. Any insight or advice is appreciated! Thank you :)

I think generally, DS should be about 1pg. I would also combine the DS and the socioeconomic disadvantage. I mean...in a sense that's two DS if you don't combine them. I think that is a little too much.

Agree. Combine DS and Socioeconomic essay into a 1pager.
Also make sure to have a Why X for applicable schools.

Thanks for the replies! I touch on the socioeconomic disadvantage in my PS, so hopefully that will suffice. Also, I definitely want to write "Why X" statements for particular law schools. Does anyone have a sample of a "Why X" Statement? What are the general guidelines on length and content?

Thanks again :)
