Thanks for any input,
Im in my senior year,
My most incredible soft is that I have been to marine corps officer candidates school and ranked 3rd out of 231. However during my senior year I was arrested and dropped from the program.
Do you think I have a shot at UCLA, what other schools might I consider? I like UCLA because of the prestige but also because I want to practice entertainment law.
I appreciate your time,

The answer to this depends largely on whether you are Mexican or Puerto Rican (as opposed to non-URM hispanic).

Hardly anyone with your numbers got into UCLA last cycle according to http://ucla.lawschoolnumbers.com/stats/1011/, but the fact that you are a URM will help you. I would say your chances are pretty slim, but I would apply broadly and see what sticks since URM cycles fairly unpredictable.
I would consider USC, UC Hastings, and UC Davis if you want California. But like I said, I would apply to a lot of schools to give yourself the best possible shot at getting in somewhere worthwhile. Good luck.

I'm actually half white half Mexican. I got dark skin, was raised in predominately white society, socio-economically speaking. When it comes to a diversity statement, I will be writing of my mixed race, being in two worlds etc, and how I can add an unique insight to a school

You have a chance, but not a very good one. A retake would definitely help, but your GPA is a bit low for most of the top CA schools. Look at lawschoolnumbers.com to see where you have a chance of getting in (and possibly getting scholarship money) with your numbers. If you are happy with Davis or Hastings, I think you'll definitely get in with scholarship money. UCLA and USC are most likely out, but anything is possible.Rickjames11 wrote:So slim as in I got a shot? What can I do between now and next cycle when I apply? Keep taking the lsat?
