Half Latino URM

Post by Lotus24 » Wed Apr 27, 2011 10:21 pm

Female, GPA 3.4 LSAT 160

I'm in at American and UConn, waitlisted at Duke but am still waiting on Fordham. It's my first choice. Would you recommend emailing the Assistant Dean of Admissions to state that it's my first choice and I'd put down the deposit the day of if I were to be admitted?

Do I have a shot with my numbers?

Don't really know Fordham's position on URMs, but at this point in the cycle, you're essentially on a waitlist, at which point TCR would be to send a LOCI. Calling can't hurt.

Of course you should, if that's true.
As a URM, you have a shot, but according to LSN it's not a great one. LSN tends to not be a perfect predictor though.
Definitely send the email.
.. also, pretty sure they don't care what your blood quantum is @ "Half Latino"

What type of latino? This is important. I did get into Fordham with a 3.6/163 with $$$ and I am Non-URM Latino, but I think that's rare. You have a shot being PR or Mexican. If you're not PR or Mexican than it may be tough.
