I want to begin writing my personal statement for my apps. I want to put a great deal of time working on them. Can some one let me know so I can proceed?

NYU's PS this year was quite interesting

"Please describe, in no more than 2, double-spaced, 12-font pages how Mike "The Situation", has followed a similar trajectory in life as that of Odysseus. No outside sources required. If outside sources used, please cite using MLA"

If I were you, I would write this and then adjust accordingly when the new essay is posted in September.

In all seriousness, see http://www.appreqs.com. As you'll note, like most PS prompts (also available on the site), it's not really a question... more just an opportunity to tell a bit more about yourself, etc.

If you're going to start now, a more useful strategy might be to search these forums for advice on what makes a good personal statement, since you'll probably be using a slightly modified version of the same PS for all schools you apply to. Hope this helps!
