~3.0 GPA, 167 LSAT, Middle Eastern/African

Post by mrcandyman » Fri Mar 04, 2011 4:30 pm

Hi everyone. I'm currently in my senior year at a top 30 university and I wish to apply to law school come September.

I took the LSAT twice. My first time I received a 157 the second time a 167.

My LSAC GPA is currently about a 2.9. My regular GPA is higher. If I pull As before I graduate my GPA will break 3.0.

I'm 3/4 Middle Eastern and 1/4 African (Black).

My family immigrated here, however my African grandparent passed away a long time ago while my family still lived in the middle east. Also, I obviously look much more middle eastern than I look African. Is this going to be a problem or is my family's ancestry enough? I don't really understand how they will know my race.

With all this in mind, here are my questions:

What schools should I apply to? Should I ED at any school?

I am 3/4 middle eastern and 1/4 african, how does this affect my URM status?

You are a URM. Nobody is going to question your heritage.
