Sorry but unless you're a URM, all are long shots. If you had 0.2 more on the GPA, you'd be in at Columbia, but 3.5 seems like somewhat of a hard floor for them. You need to look at some splitter-friendly t14s. I'm not sure what these may be.

Ok then, now we're talking. You definitely do have a shot, especially at NYU.

better shots than that.. i'd say 70% shot for H. (~3.0, 172~174 AA Males often get in)

Yeah I agree. HYS are always harder to predict though, so I never feel comfortable saying someone will for sure get in. These numbers have a great chance though. CLS has gone insane this cycle though, so I don't know how anyone can predict it anymore haha.

It is certainly worth applying to all of them. I'd be shocked if you were shut out of them all, being AA with a 175.

Does it also help my case that my major choice is out of the norm?

(History/Japanese double major)

You should apply for NYU's AnBryce.

+1

You have a good shot everywhere. With S and Y it'll be a little unpredictable, though (those'll depend more on your softs).

I don't know about Yale. It's difficult to determine their URM floor since it seems so few URMs apply to Yale in the first place. Unfortunately I'd say a 3.3 probably wouldn't cut it. I say this because of the data. They typically accept only 3-4 people from that GPA range every year. A 3.5+ would be more realistic, but you wouldn't be in a good zone until you reached 3.7.

Harvard and Stanford however are much more realistic.

Meaning they've been yield protecting like crazy. A lot of URMs who are in at Harvard, Stanford, as well as a variety of other schools were either held or WL at Columbia. Other URMs who would have normally been "in" were WL too. This is speculation, of course, but it seems to be a good explanation.

Just wanted to say that 3.3/175 is possible at CCN for non-URM, especially with ED. Quick glance at LSN says about 75% get in with ED, about 20% without.

Yale and Stanford are probably out, but I think your odds are > 50% at Harvard, and you're in at CCN.

(All of this barring some egregious application error)

I say your chances are better than 50 50 at all of them. I wont say you are a lock, but i would send an application to every single one of those schools. Get your LOR's ready, your essays ready and send them in the first day you can. Best of luck, im sure you will hear good things in the fall

How did this guy not get in everywhere? Especially seeing the amazing cycles other black applicants have had with far lower LSAT scores?

Agh... what a waste of a 175. You would think someone who scored that high would want to preserve their GPA to better complement their LSAT score.
