2.9 GPA and 147 LSAT...
AA male, 2.9 and 147. Strong LOR's, essays and nice amount of significant work experience. Do I have a chance at getting into any school lol? Howard is the top choice... Thanks!

If you can, retake. If you hit the mid-150s you'd be looking at great schools and substantial scholarships

Of course you will be accepted to a law school. Assuming you have some decent soft factors, there is probably a tier 3 school with your name on it. Whatever you do though, don't get caught up in relying onTLS forums for important advice or moral support. The only group that is more pessimistic than lawyers are law students. If a legal education is something you really want, take your chips and make something out of them.

However, I must confess that I enjoy the dry humor and bitter sarcasm which law students spew in abundance.

As a URM who took the LSAT more than once and had to work very hard to not do terrible on it after receiving a score that was in your range...I really ahve to echo that you take some time off and buckle down to retake. Even if Howard is your top choice, you'd gain a great deal by cracking the 150's.

OP, you've made several mistakes.
The first and quite frankly the largest, you "pledged" K.A.Y...lol

Retake. Do it for me. Law school is getting more competitive as more applicants come in each year.
At the same time, you miss every shot you dont take. If you dont wanna retake it don't, go for it!

I must say I enjoy the sarcasm and dry humor myself. However, I like to attribute the ignorance to actually lack of knowledge.
Anyhow, I think you have a good chance at your dream school. Use your assets and push those in your personal statement. Make it superb. However. I think if you want a great chance at Howard and it’s the school you really want. I agree with the masses I would find a good prep course (if you can afford it) and prepare to retake. Do everything you can to push that puppy up to at least in the 160’s. Good Luck!
