I am thinking of deferring so that I can play professional basketball overseas for a year. I wanted to know how outside scholarships work with deferrals? Getting a contract isn't a guarantee, so I wanted to apply to major outside scholarship programs (LDF, ABA, UNCF, etc.) to supplement my finaid package in case I don't get an offer overseas and attend law school in Fall 2011. If I get an outside scholarship, does anyone know or heard anything about them being held by the law school?
I know this is a shot in the dark, but figured might as well ask...

No clue, but I would be interested in this as well. I would also be interested in a list of outside scholarships for law school. Most scholarships I have seen are for Undergrad.

I would like to know about outside scholarships too. Hell, a friend of mine got 2k for undergrad from Planters Nuts for writing a couple pages on the various uses of peanuts.
