Why would it many any less depending on race? If anything it would probably matter more for URMs.

It matters a great deal, no matter what race you are. It matters even more for those whose scores/grades don't reflect all the work they've put in to get to where they are. Take the time to write a well thought out essay. I'd be happy to offer some pointers/feedback and I'm sure others would be willing to as well.

Because my stats are well below the median for some of the schools I've gotten into so far. And when the UVA admiss dir called me today, he specifically mentioned his admiration for my writing style/PS...didn't mention my stats at all.

lol ... well he actually said he was blown away by my PS. Either way, my PS, 163 LSAT and I will be laughing all the way to the T10.

Seriously, they just say that. Congratulations on getting in, but they say that all the time. Made the same call last year, and was told the same thing. But seriously, congratulations.
