Bishop Eddie Long Scandal
The influence and size of Bishop Eddie Long's mega-church, New Birth in Atlanta, Georgia has made the charges levied against him interesting. While the charges of improper conduct echo a growing sub-culture among American Minorities,I find the tenor of the dialogue revolving around Eddie Long disturbing. I often wonder why upper lower-class and lower-middle class people engage so much of their finances and time to congregational worship. Im not suggesting a secular agenda, nor am I excusing Eddie Long from public scrutiny, but I am intrigued as to what lasting effects the resolution of Eddie Long's charges will have towards the interpretation of faith and hope in minority communities.
