Re: Sample STRONG LOR
Is the professor giving you the option of writing the letter yourself or telling you to write the letter yourself? Because your best bet is definitely to have the professor write the letter herself. Admissions officers can tell if a LOR has a similar style to your personal statement or if it looks really similar to a bunch of other LOR's they've read made from the same template, and it's a definite negative.
Maybe try giving her a list (non-letter format) of stuff you've worked-on/accomplished with her and other positives about you to help her with the letter. Hopefully she's just worried about including everything you'd want rather than just too lazy to write it herself.

Re: Sample STRONG LOR
I kinda thought you weren't allowed to write your own LOR. Is this not correct?
If your prof. is not willing to put in the effort to write you a letter personally, maybe you should ask someone else.
Best of luck!

Well, it would certainly be unethical, to say the least.phoenix323 wrote:I kinda thought you weren't allowed to write your own LOR. Is this not correct?

Re: Sample STRONG LOR
You should not write your own LOR mostly because it typically contains the writers voice and adcomms can usually tell.
If you are going to do it, shoot me a PM and I'll get you an example I write for ppl who request LOR's from me.
Also, re: your first line; its fantastic.
