CONGRATS! I was worried because I hadn't seen any activity on LSN for my fellow URM's. Hopefully they start coming for the rest of us! What was the date on the letter?PRgradBYU wrote:EttaJ wrote:Yes, I was accepted by snail mail yesterday.Teflon_Don wrote:Have any URMs heard back from Columbia yet

Good to know you'll be taking the June 2013. Hope to see you for the review session tomorrow and thanks for the book recommendation! I'm heading to B&N after work to pick that or either Liar's Poker up.

Already in at USC, but now I'm looking at 120k to go along with my acceptance. Top choices so far are between that and Georgetown (still waiting on some schools and a lot of scholly info though) Hastings was my top choice coming in and I would have ED'd there if it wasn't for this forum.

Congrats Etta and JCan on Columbia, so exciting!!
I'm in to NYU, but I have a silly bias toward Columbia and I really, really hope to hear positive word from them soon.

Look at you J'Can! And you were worried about not getting hearing back from Michigan. Now that Columbia is a thing, are you going to stop freaking out? Congrats!

Re: URM 2012-2013 Cycle... let's go!
Any suggestions on negotiation for a school that offered no merit aid? I haven't heard from all my schools yet, but I assume the ones giving me the most substantial scholarships are already in. I was very interested in UCI but received no scholarship. Would using offers from high tier 1s to TT be useful for fishing out money? The school is definitely pushing sending in an intent to register, and I could not imagine going unless I had a nice scholarship offer.
I haven't heard from USC/USC, Georgetown, Cornell and NU, but I do not suspect I will get any money from them, or at least not much.

Lol I have to say it calmed me down a lot haha. Checked my status today at Michigan only to find another 'complete'. For once, I didn't even bat an eye. I'm just letting God put me where He wants me and if Michigan doesn't want me, it's SO great to know I have more than viable alternatives as it stands!lawprospie wrote:Look at you J'Can! Thank goodness for TLS allowing me to dare to dream. I honestly don't think I would ever have even applied if it wasn't for this place.
