I know I already had a long debate in here about my decision not to do a second re-take and most of my apps are already in, but I feel the need to make use of my final re-take. Seeing some of the results in this thread also inspired me. I've already started prepping in the limited free time I've got and ordered some new material. I've got little to lose and maybe something to gain, so we'll just see how it goes.
Congrats to everyone on their scores.
thumbs up

I went up by double digits from my first score to now, and most of my gains came in the last month of solid PTing and review. You, and everyone else retaking in December, have got this.

Alright. Score came in (165) and now it's time to press the submit button on all my apps.
Praying that this cycle goes well.

underperformed with a 160 (scoring about 5-7 points higher on pt's). I'm a black male with a 3.78 gpa, don't know if i should retake or just stick with the score and apply.

This is the only one I've taken but taking the December one only leaves me a month to study and doing one February is too late, no?
Didn't expect to do this bad... I don't even know what schools to apply to in this range.

Retake. If you don't feel prepared for December, then don't be afraid to take in February or June and sit out a cycle. I know it sucks, but it's all worth it when you get the score that shows your real potential, trust me.

I've talked to a recent alumn of Penn Law who had that same score with a lower GPA so dont be discouraged! 1 month is plenty of time to at least get your games to -0. February is not ideal if you want to apply for this cycle or for any cycle because it's not disclosed so you cant learn from your mistakes. I would say sign up for Dec and hit the ground running.

Thanks guys! I'm super nervous about this cycle because I feel like my scores are borderline, like it can go either way. My dream is NYU so here's hoping!
Best of luck to everyone who has to retake! I got mid-150s the first time I took the test.

Just got my score! 162, up 9 points from December 2012. Will be retaking for December to go after that 165+. Congrats to everyone, you've all been a source of encouragement for me!

One re-take left and I'd only have a month to prep. Working about 30 hours a week and no loans to speak of that would enable me to quit my job. Panicking.
3.36-3.41 GPA
You sound like you're already PTing at a good place. Look through your October test and try to figure out what went wrong. A month should be enough to either maintain your PT average or increase it slightly. At that point it's mainly about going through test taking strategies to make sure that you execute on test day. As far as retakers go you're in a pretty good place, so don't panic.

I also need the consolation but a URM male with a 3.6/158 then 163 in December landed Stanford, Columbia and NYU last year. Also SEO. He went on to attend NYU as an AnBryce recipient.
All is not lost. January will be late for us but if we can bang it out in December, we still have a decent shot.

If I retake, my apps won't get looked at until January--once URM spots fill up, that's it right? The boost is over. With the Supreme Court ruling kind of ambiguous I'm afraid of sitting out a cycle

What you talkin about Willis?
URM's don't find out until late usually, and there is no arbitrary number of URM spots. The boost never disappears.
