I'm still waiting on 6, but Texas said they'll get back to me this week.teampeeta wrote:This has been SUCH a slow week. I am still waiting on 3 schools (technically 4 if you count Northwestern, but I think I'm going to withdraw). We're closing in on mid-April. Lord give me strength.

Most of us are busy with ASW and/or haven't heard a peep from schools this week.toshiroh wrote: Thanks, ultimately I haven't made a decision yet. But Regardless, atleast if I do retake, I get to tell next years Cycle thread participants how awesome this thread was.... well up until April anyway
I think it'll pick up again soon.

did any of you all end up going to the Northwestern ASW? I had my flight lined up and everything and then there was a family emergency so I wasn't able to go. =/ I'm really interested in a URM perspective of NU

I did and really liked it. The URM community is small, but everyone I met, URM or not, seemed very inclusive. That they had an entire day dedicated to diversity students left a really great impression. The community was the most laid back, non competitive, and straight forward I've seen. They attribute this to the fact that since most people have work and real life experience, they can better handle the stress of law school. The Dean is my favorite of all I've met (if that matters)...reminds me of a Rahm Emanuel and Chris Christie mixlemons wrote:did any of you all end up going to the Northwestern ASW? There are many, each one of them somehow better than the last (even when read out of order).

Slightly jealous. If not for my "thanks but no thanks from YLS", I'd be trying to find you both. I blame Asha for this! Have fun in New Haven, though!!nabadgelyo wrote:I'm sitting next to jodieloveschachi at Yale ASW. We just got into an argument about futuregohan. Who else is here?!?

I've been on planes way too much this month. Luckily most of my ASW/D expenses were paid for.

Thanks, Brett! Hoping we all get acceptances so we can move on with our lives. This cycle has felt very long to me. Can't imagine how it has felt for those who applied in Sept/Oct.Brettanomyces wrote:I hope those of us still waiting get some news (good/bad/whatever) tomorrow.

Well I maybe sitting out with you as well. But I have my fingers crossed that you will receive great news from Cornell.toshiroh wrote:Thanks, ultimately I haven't made a decision yet. I know you will decide whatever is right for you. I know I had to speak to a number of current and past students that were similar to me ( black URMs from low income backgrounds) at the school I deposited at to get a feel for the debt and how to manage. They all seem to have a pretty good plan for it that really helped me ease my concern. They also received less aid than I did so it really helped to talk to them about my concerns.toshiroh wrote:they gave me 10,946 dollars in need based, which is like a drop in the bucket. Big Law, possibly lateral into Fed Govt/DOJ.... or start with DOJ honors when I graduate. I'm all over the place, but know that the ultimate goal is federal govt.mandyjay11 wrote:NYU hasn't given you a dollar? Not even need based? That's weird.
Are your goals worth going to NYU at sticker?

This has to be one of the longest cycles in the history of law school admissions cycles....everyone I talk to is waiting on at least 2 schools. When I applied in 2012 I was done the third week of March and I applied earlier this time around.
