I didn't think people thought it was such a big deal what school you go to. Many people have started looking at me more favorably. So much fake love.
Especially the females. When they hear "Oh you are going to law school? Wow you are trying to go to Texas?"
Ugh please please please don't refer to women as females. My number one pet peeve :( (sorry can't help it. it's like hearing nails on a chalkboard to me)
Here we go.

Please let's leave this kind of talk to lipstickalley or theColi.
And' lets keep this forum strictly law school related????

Thanks.
Considering this is a URM page, I would think everyone on here is mindful of slights and microaggressions. there's plenty of reasons why people hate this terminology and find it sexist. It's a simple request, get off your high horse.
Woah...so I can't discuss a podcast that targets a minority audience either? LOL, peace. That's pretty lame.
Not about podcast but acting like a minor request is out of line. Over it.

On another note, has anyone had luck negotiating scholarships? More specifically with t20 schools? I'm hoping Vandy might match my WUSTL scholarship, but not sure how to go about that

Hey all, I need advice. I got into my top choice of law school, which is unbelievable cause I thought I'd definitely be WL (thanks Annalise) but I didn't get any scholarship offer. My LSAT score is low 160s. Is i worth it writing the June LSAT to increase my scholarship chances? Has anyone done this and was successful? I don't want to study and write this mentally draining exam for no reason again

There are examples on this site of this working. However, you could also spend that time applying for scholarships elsewhere. If you are not confident that you can significantly raise your LSAT, then the later may be an option worth serious consideration.

I did this. It was brutal because I was working full time, but ended up being worth it. I got a 6 point increase and moved from 1/3 to a full scholarship in early July. Decided to reapply this year.

I might try this. I have a free LSAT left.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing now lol.

But I really don't want to wait another year to go to law school. If anything if I score better it's just to get Usc or notre dame to up their scholarship offer.

Yeah I won't reapply. I'm content on the schools I got into so far. Just want more money lol.
I honestly don't care past top 20. I want to work in California. Only schools that could make me reconsider are probably Berkeley, Stanford, and Harvard tbh.

Any URMs get a JS1 with numbers below 170? Feeling really bummed out at the silence from Harvard

Fuck. Can I see your resume? lmao
Haha I think the key is tying our background, school activities, work experience, and career aspirations together to form a really compelling story about what you're passionate about and what type of impact you hope to make. If your #s/transcript are in a range that prove that you'd be academically successful, I feel like our PS/DS/resume/etc carry larger weight than TLS believes - that's what ultimately will put us over the top

If I'm honest, mine started out a little rough as the interviewer got me with a question I wasn't expecting (although I should have - so mea culpa). After the initial stumble though I feel I recovered well and ultimately connected with the interviewer over being alum of the same undergrad + major. I walked away feeling like it went good, not great.

Once you get one though, the anxiety in anticipation of a JS2 is terrible.

Maybe. I just tend to feel about 1000% more confident after interviews. :P

Yea I think my undergrad + upward GPA trend (3.9 my last couple years) made a difference
