Congrats. I was also thinking about going the MPP route after my results this cycle. Hope all works out for you.BankruptMe wrote:Got into a MPP in Washington DC...

If you got decent schools, I would go, but my cycle isn't looking too good right now. Even if I get a decent T30-50, I would be paying sticker....and I don't want to do that. I would be paying half the price for law school, be in DC, can intern, get good work experience..and give me time to Retake.Quan292 wrote:Congrats. Plus the deposit is half to 3/4 of what law schools are looking for. So it would be tough to turn this down right now.

How old are you BankruptMe? I have a friend who's interested in applying but she was told by admission officers that they generally look for applicants who are 25+ years old.BankruptMe wrote:If you got decent schools, I would go, but my cycle isn't looking too good right now. Re: URM 2013-2014 Cycle Thread
I think I am just going to deposit as soon as I get paid on Friday. After Penn's ASW, I am pretty sold. On top of that, they gave me a little more money than I was expecting given my numbers. It's getting too close to May to be waiting around for Columbia and NYU to even read my application lol
Also, message me if you were at Penn's ASW. I doubt any of you were, but just in case.

It's getting down to the wire and I'm getting pretty nervous. I would like to get a response from Duke or Penn before I deposit (I'm so over thinking I may have a shot at Columbia at this rate) but I'm pretty happy with my offer and after the ASW I think I want to go ahead and deposit at Vandy. But if I get Duke I'll be pissed that I already committed....

Even if you deposit at Vandy, can't you wait on Duke and if you get in, jump ship?wlee1220 wrote:It's getting down to the wire and I'm getting pretty nervous. You can always make multiple deposits, but seriously.... $750 for a deposit is sky high. I'd be sick if that money was all for nothing.Dr.Zer0 wrote:Even if you deposit at Vandy, can't you wait on Duke and if you get in, jump ship?wlee1220 wrote:It's getting down to the wire and I'm getting pretty nervous. Plus if he waits too long, having multiple deposits is risky because LSAC sends a list of students that have multiple deposits to those respective schools, so what better way to make a good impression on the staff then to have a conversation about why you have two deposits. I did some light searching and it seems the process is not generally recommended unless it's absolutely necessary.
If anything, I'd probably rather call and check to see if I could have the deposit deadline postponed... but who the hell knows if that works.

Yeah, a lot of us don't have money to just throw around at schools like that. Plus, for a lot of my offers with scholarships, they want me to commit earlier than the deadline date, which is completely understandable, as that money could go to someone who's going to actually attend.El Principe wrote:You can always make multiple deposits, but seriously.... $750 for a deposit is sky high. Man, applying to law school is no joke financially. It's amazing to me how people have money for multiple deposits. Taking multiple LSAts and applying to like 10 schools set me back a pretty penny.
I would need a wholleeee lot to switch from a school where I deposited to another one, and rankings is just not enough.

I've been resisting a very strong urge to just deposit somewhere and be done. But, I keep telling myself that it's just another 30 days max.
It's been a long process, but we all put a lot of work into studying for the lsat and crafting our each letter, paragraph, sentence, phrase, etc. of our apps. Now is NOT the time to get trigger happy and rush to a decision. You have until the last minute of the deadline day to make a decision and there are no prizes for choosing early.
PS - Tosh I love your new avatar!

Mandy it sounds like Penn would be a great fit for you from everything you've said on here. I'm surprised you haven't deposited there yet!mandyjay11 wrote:I think I am just going to deposit as soon as I get paid on Friday. After Penn's ASW, I am pretty sold. For those of us still waiting on Stanford, anyone even mildly optimistic/hopeful?
