For those who submitted GULC scholarship essays, how soon after the deadline did you get your offer?

Not for 3 applications (UVA, Chicago and NYU). They were submitted in October-December.t-14orbust wrote:damn..lol. I'm still waiting on like 6 schools... and the fact that I'm thinking about paying sticker at NYU, thinking of sitting out this cycle and retaking(I'd be 26 going into Law school, 24 now.
), and thinking of going to my regional for free is scaring me.

I'm on day 47 of UR2 at Penn if it's any consolationruninthefront wrote:NYU, UVA, Georgetown, Michigan, Penn, Berkeley, Chicago, Columbia, Texas...those are all the schools I'm still waiting on (well, there's another one too, but that's not realistic...not that many of these are, anyway).
If I can nab 2/9 with some money, I promise I won't complain...I promise...

Re: URM 2013-2014 Cycle Thread
applied to hahvahd in september
went complete in october
have heard nothing at all since then
i do not know if this is a good or a bad thing. many have been rejected and, on one hand, it must be a good sign that i'm somehow still in the running. on the other hand, the fact that I've heard nothing at all seems like bad news. it has been well over 150 days. should i be happy or sad? I do not know
so confuse

at this point i'm starting to run out of fucks to give. i would simply like to hear an answer so i can move along.
same goes for columbia and stanford, both of whom have also been silent for the past five and a half months.
many frustrate
much wait
such impatient
growing anxiety
wow

Not as of yet, so I'm assuming the worst. I completed all the neccessary paper work. I don't know if I was supposed to get that with acceptance or not...mandyjay11 wrote:NYU didnt give you any need-based aid?toshiroh wrote:I'm still waiting on like 6 schools... and the fact that I'm thinking about paying sticker at NYU, thinking of sitting out this cycle and retaking(I'd be 26 going into Law school, 24 now.), and thinking of going to my regional for free is scaring me.

yeah I think it takes some time. I didnt get my Penn aid package until last week and I was accepted Mid Feb. I have been in contact with the Michigan office and they said within the next week and half and I was accepted there early Feb.
Takes a little time, don't count the cycle out just yet!

Re: URM 2013-2014 Cycle Thread
I am still waiting for a lot of schools too. I submitted in January, so I feel bad complaining too much, but it's still an extremely unpleasant wait. I don't really understand what could take them this long at lots of different schools given that a lot had early-Feb deadlines.

I am only waiting on Harvard and Yale. But, I had a JS1 about 6 weeks ago so not sure what that means.
I am also still waiting on aid from most schools. But, I got my georgetown award about 3 weeks after I submitted my essay as well.

Seems like I missed a few acceptances last week. Congrats to everyone on their recent acceptances!

Am I the only one who's been trolled by their "backups" in terms of acceptances and scholarships?
I'm still waiting on three, which I clearly have the #s for, to even accept me, and two more have given jokingly low offers.

How are you guys determining good vs "jokingly low" scholarship offers?
