Congrats on all of the scholarship offers!

I just got an e-mail from UVA stating that they're offering me the Dillard Scholarship.

Yea I got 20k per year. Decent amount, but i'm pretty sure I'll be withdrawing tonight or tomorrow.

Congrats on all the great news... full scholly at UVA, schollies @ GTown, & getting in @ Columbia. Keep it coming.

In other news, looks like I'm all in this admissions cycle because after my first day at this new job today, I can clearly say I cannot wait a year to retake. No way, no how.

I think it depends on the school. Someone on the UCLA thread was trying to negotiate for money and he had schooly offers from WUSTL and the like. He couldn't get UCLA to budge. You should still give it a try tho.

The key is to negotiate amongst peer schools So in the case of Vandy, it would be UCLA, Texas, and USC offers. In the case of the lower T14 it would be Cornell/NU/Georgetown and maybe Duke. Seldom are schools willing to negotiate outside and below their peer school rank.

That said, it may be worth speaking to the school and showing a sincere interest to attend. For instance, if invited to attend a luncheon or diversity day, try and network and keep in touch with professors, administrators etc. of the school who may be able to vouch for you in negotiating more scholarship aid. Explain your financial situation if you have to. It has worked and may also work in your situation. Also read below:
