Hi guys, i'm a bit new to tls and and the law school process in general. I spoke with a law student last week and she suggested that I apply for an SEO internship for the summer.
I was mainly just wondering if it is too late to apply. I just saw this thread and saw that it outlined some of the deadlines. I'd love to have some of your thoughts.
Thanks

Are you enrolling in your first year of law school next year? If yes, the deadline has passed. If not, then you're ineligible. However, when you do apply to law school, then you can apply to SEO at the same time. More information here: http://www.seolaw.org/ Good Luck!b3easy wrote:Hi guys, i'm a bit new to tls and and the law school process in general. I had a friend with an iPhone (they have a pretty nice camera) take a photo of me against a wall. I then used a passport photo app to adjust contrast/saturation and crop it to 2x2. Whole process took ~30 minutes including choosing shots and making my hair stop defying gravity because rain.lilitiger99 wrote:Do any of y'all also not have head shots? SEO requires us to read this book ("Getting to Maybe") that's about preparing your mindset for law school exams. Have heard a ton of others recommend it: https://www.amazon.com/Getting-Maybe-Ex ... 0890897603b3easy wrote:renc56 wrote:The deadline was in mid-March :/b3easy wrote:Hi guys, i'm a bit new to tls and and the law school process in general. Also missed the call yesterday and tried to call back, no response. Called again today, no response. Left a message. Anyone else have any luck after a missed call?

If you're a paralegal you are probably better prepared than a lot of your classmates, just keep doing what you're doingb3easy wrote:renc56 wrote:The deadline was in mid-March :/b3easy wrote:Hi guys, i'm a bit new to tls and and the law school process in general. Yeah, but i'm at a really small firm. If they called and left a voicemail and you haven't been able to reach them in your attempts to call back then send an email simply stating that you received a voicemail and haven't been able to speak with anyone when you called back so you are reaching out this way.69waystodie wrote:The entire process seems incredibly unorganized, I'm really tempted to email. Personally, I wouldn't ask where/if you were placed

anyway - what I'm doing before law school = got a Hulu subscription and I'm going to watch EVERY episode of Law & Order SVU, might drive myself to the Grand Canyon, may try to live off next to nothing in Italy for a couple of weeks, make coffee plans with attorneys I don't know...maybe learn how to meditate...

if you're serious about that last point, i'd recommend the Headspace app! i used it extensively when I was studying for the LSAT and loved it. meditating is hard af but i imagine it'll be a very useful tool in school. i'm dying to quit my job, plz go to the GC and/or italy so i can live vicariouslyrenc56 wrote:I'm also a paralegal #woo and I want to quit my job so much (even though it's not a bad job or anything) that it's probably irritating my friends..dietcoke1 wrote:saving money is always good. but relaxing is better IMOb3easy wrote:I can if I wanted, but idk I figured I should try and save some money to have to be able to spend while in school outside of tuition.dietcoke1 wrote:if you can afford it, quit your job ASAP and relax. that's my recommendationb3easy wrote: Do you guys have any other suggestions on what I can maybe do before I start my 1L this fall? .

haha I don't see Italy happening (maybe I just look at the pictures, eat some gnocchi, and cry into a glass of wine instead?) but if I go to the Grand Canyon, I'd post pictures.

Haha yeah I just took mine with a Samsung 7S - I think it's camera is nicer than an iPhone. You can kind of tell it's not professional, but oh well. I'm in a suit and all so I hope it works. Edited it a lottazaleafire wrote:I had a friend with an iPhone (they have a pretty nice camera) take a photo of me against a wall. Hi guys - I've been lurking the TLS boards but have never posted. I happen to have recently met the Director in person and know that she/they have been extremely busy trying to get all of the moving pieces in place in time for the summer. Van Ann seems really hard-working; I know that she's given up most of her weekends and evenings the past few months to do interviews and plan for the upcoming program. I don't think she would have done that if she had more time during the week.69waystodie wrote:The entire process seems incredibly unorganized, I'm really tempted to email. Remember that they are (i) a non-profit and leanly-staffed (I got the sense that Van Ann does most of the work on her own), and (ii) she could be on the phone with other candidates when you're calling or, more likely, in other meetings during the day (which is probably why it seems like she's been calling early in the morning or later at night). She also mentioned that she's been meeting with a lot of their partner law firms, instructors, etc., in addition to meeting with students.
Just wanted to put another perspective out there since it seems like she's a really nice person, seems to work a lot and seems to really care about the program.

I just don't understand why they can't send us an email with an acceptance, It makes the process waaaaay more stressful than it needs to be for everyone.HarvardHopeful95 wrote:I missed her call on Friday and didn't get a call back until yesterday.
