Noticeable drop for Penn. Interesting considering almost all of the other schools' percentage increased (outside of UChi which decreased 2%). This makes me think either schools/debt loads are pushing students to the firm or opportunities in PI/gov related jobs are becoming even harder to get (which is scary considering they are already incredibly hard to get for people at any law school), or both. When the ABA data becomes available it would be interesting to look at the influence class size changes have had on these numbers.

I just got my "Admissions Packet" from Howard ( it's like three papers in an envelop) and the scholarship stips are a little unreasonable. To keep any scholarship over 20,000, you have to be in the top 15% of the class for 2L and 3L year. I mean maybe it's not that intense, but geesh that's a lot of pressure on top of having to get a job and stuff

Yeah it's super conditional. But it's still a full ride.....technically. Not sure how easy it'd be to get top 15%.Black_Swan wrote:mandyjay11 wrote:I just got my "Admissions Packet" from Howard ( it's like three papers in an envelop) and the scholarship stips are a little unreasonable. Lol yeah idk how hard it is but if you don't make the cut off you move all the way down to half tuition. Ahah I would never sign up for that.mt2165 wrote:Yeah it's super conditional. Yeah and not to knock Howard or anything but there is very little reason to be there if you're not at least top 20%.mandyjay11 wrote:Lol yeah idk how hard it is but if you don't make the cut off you move all the way down to half tuition. More info on UCLA. Looks like things are getting worse, this was posted by a 2L on reddit:
I really liked the idea of staying in SoCal and going to UCLA until I found out about all this.I'm at UCLA and mired in the racism issues on campus. Last week a student got a note in her uclaw mailbox saying "stop being a sensitive n****r", and another two girls were confronted by an aggressive 1L guy in an elevator over their participation in the anti-racism events, so things have been really intense. About Wednesday of last week, it shifted from something that was being talked about in small-groups to something school wide. Our dean started sending out letters and meeting with groups of students to address the issues.

LMAO Gohan do not make me laugh, this is serious.
But, honestly though, who ITT is still seriously considering UCLA?

I was really considering it a long time ago. But they have some deep rooted issues at that school that they really need to solve. This is why I wrote my PS because of issues like this. It really is crazy that you cannot recieve a quality education without being harassed.mandyjay11 wrote:Futuregohan14 wrote:logicspeaks wrote:More info on UCLA. I was because it suited my purposes. And I posted a few days ago responding to something Pied had said suggesting people use UCLA for their own purposes in spite of the issues. But this is next level, if accurate; unacceptable in general, and for a state funded institution that uses tax payer money from every ethnicity to run operations, infuriating, disgusting, criminal and I could go on, but will stop there before I get too colorful with my words.mandyjay11 wrote:Futuregohan14 wrote:logicspeaks wrote:More info on UCLA. It really bothers me that there is not a single black attorney in my office at DOJ. No MA or PR or Hispanic either as far as I can gather. Only a handful of women, and two Asian Americans.

UCLA has no problem going into the inner-city to recruit kids to play ball, but when it comes to academics, hah, good luck if you're a minority who can't shoot a ball or run fast!

Unfortunately, UCLA has issues in general, not just the law school. If people do decide not to attend after submitting an app definitely email the dean and let her know why. If you wanted to submit an app, but have since changed your mind based on the issues going on, I would also advise people to fill Dean Moran's inbox and let her know that. She needs to know people are watching and aware. I think that is just one way to also support the URM’s currently at the school. Personally, I have sent correspondence expressing my displeasure.
