Just got the acceptance call from Van Ann! I deposited at SLS a couple weeks ago. I was placed in SF. My first choice was LA, but she said they don't have many spots there so they figured that SF would be a good choice for me since its near SLS. She said firm info will be coming in about a week. May 22nd is when the NY training starts, but they want us to be there by May 21st. Firm will be paying for housing in NY. June 5th is when we start working with our firms.

Congrats! I think housing for the 2-week NY Institute will be covered only for those placed in non-NY markets

Hey, I'm sure more info will be sent along, probably with your firm placement (I'm in DC too!) as for airfare, I received an email saying that your firm pays for your transportation to and from NYC

If you arent in NYC your firm is responsible for your transportation to NYC and to the city you are placed in, as well as your housing - they mention that in your offer paperwork.

As far as down time/general schedule I have no clue. I also have no clue if that transport money is removed from our salary/stipend thing by the firm.

I got a friend to take a picture of me against a white wall in my workplace while wearing a work outfit. It really was shoulders up only anyway. I would think a pic good enough for LinkedIn should be fine? They did say it was for internal purposes only so they could remember your face when deciding. I think they just don't want a party pic of you.

Why is this the week to receive 99 calls from different area codes who are either telemarketers or dialed the wrong number

I tried calling back last night and again today but no response. Do you guys think it would be too forward to email asking about where/if I am placed? I'm leaving the East Coast on Sunday and would like to scope an apartment or two before I leave but I also don't want to be super annoying to the staff.
