I love Vegas. Esp with a big groups (i.e 5-7) plus it's easier cause you don't have to get around as much. And it's Vegas.
I've been. Meh.
Been many times. Still love it. And the cosmopolitan is an incredible hotel
Similarish pricepoints in Miami:
When you live so out west Miami is soooo far away.
I may think differently if I'll be in Lexington or STL next year. But when you live in seattle getting to Miami is long and costly.

Nice. NYC still doesn't have a bike share program in place. We're so behind.

You really are. And Miami Beach has a lot of cute little alleyways and side streets that you don't see if you rent a car

The LES has
tons of side streets.
Even though most of them are pretty sketchy.

This isn't an argument you can win. If you lived in like Barcelona or something, maybe.

Ooooh, good one. That would definitely be a contender. I loved getting lost in little alleys in Mong Kok. (yeah, make your jokes)

Cities with too many people scare the crap out of me. 5.5 million are plenty for me.

When I first moved to the US that was one of the things I had to overcome. Everything felt too much, too big, too crowded. Now I like the anonymity.

I was so lost during my first week there. Had to take a cab home, and it turned out it was only five blocks away. Faked stomach pain so the cabdriver wouldn't judge me.
It can be a confusing-ish city if you get lost in side streets, but it's laid out very Britishly so it makes sense in a larger view. (Parts of it, anyway. I just love the place.)

Depending on how gay-friendly the area is, I think once you get above 2-3 million people in a metro, you're anonymous enough. After 7-8 million people, there seem to be huge diminishing returns on cost and quality of life. Of course, it all depends on how the city is structured, but mega-regions like New York, Hong Kong, and Tokyo just seem like overkill to me on many levels.

HK was more densely-packed than NYC, but it felt more open, if that makes sense. Probably the big harbor running through it.

I've been living in the suburbs since graduating from UG, and I honestly miss walking around in a sea of people. Grew up in an urban environment, and the sprawl isn't doing much for me.
