I have no clue. I really only thought internationals heard by email. Maybe they were just going through the urm pile, realized they desperately needed some more, and let us know as soon as possible. lol

This is sooo true before i found TLS i thought the T-14 schools could only be attained in my dreams.

Random question...since the ranking would you all choose Stanford over Harvard now or does it not make a difference...

I chose Stanford over Harvard even before the rankings. I didn't even apply to Harvard, even though my chances were probably better there given the class size. To quote annoying hipsters - I was a fan of Stanford before it got famous.

I was just wondering if amc987, Mitterand or Justdoingmybest got JS1s?.... I think we all submitted around the same time and our cycles are pretty much similar (yes I admit it, I stalked your profiles a little)...I'm trying to see if i should be looking forward to more js1s...or jut give up now

I have not received a JS1 yet... *fingers crossed that this week is URM interview/acceptance week at Harvard and Stanford*

And don't worry, sharktankdean. When operagrl posted about her JS1 (She and I are basically numbers twins and have had very similar cycles to this point), I was happy for her, freaked out about my own state and immediately wondered whether you, Miterrand or Justdoingmybest had gotten invites as well. The fact that you haven't either gives me some hope that there may be another wave somewhere down the line...

Mind if i ask what your numbers are? hoping more URM js1 invites are just around the corner...

I may be biased because I've spent a great deal of my time in VA, but UVA culture resembles a giant Southern frat party. IMHO, Ithe school is fun for people that like to party hardcore, but the culture/diversity/character is missing. It still sucks to get your first rejection, so I'm sorry to hear it

Forget about it. Although I wouldn't entirely agree with the previous comments on UVA--there's some truth there.

Not at all. I've already pretty much decided on SLS over Harvard for much less arbitrary reasons including size, weather, talking to alumni from both schools,etc (and the not insignificant fact that I haven't gotten into HLS). It really eases the sting of the hold and I plan on mentioning it in my ding bar post!!

Honestly, I'm not heartbroken over the Virginia rejection, but thanks for the condolence. The school seems to get tagged with the fratty label a lot and middle of nowhere Virginia isn't the most desirable place. I had no intention of going and only applied because of a fee waiver.

Forget about it. Although I wouldn't entirely agree with the previous comments on UVA--there's some truth there.

Thanks, Alltheirspendor. I applied to the majority of the t14 (minus Yale, Harvard and Columbia etc. - because of not wanting to go to school in New England and preferring NYU, repectively). Still waiting to get rejected from Stanford and NYU, but I've had a great cycle so far.
