Anyone else getting many phone calls from different area codes, so you get excited and say "maybe it's SEO" and it's just people trying to sell or scam you?

The deadline for seat deposits in Wednesday so hopefully more decisions this week! Honestly would be surprised if there are not any.

It's like the universe is playing us. Only when we're waiting on a call do we get random calls from people who want to sell us home insurance and/or we've won a cruise if we provide our full name and social security number...

Also just got a SEO e-mail. Reminding to deposit.

Do y'all think there are more or less applicants this year? Why take soo long when last year decisions rolled out over 2 days....

I don't care unless it improves my chances lol

If it helps, I was e-mailed by SEO and got mail from them to apply in late February/early March so they are doing outreach. I still think it's probably not well-known among URMs unless you have friends who participated in it recently and/or have a guidance counselor of some sort (e.g. still in college with resources). I wouldn't have applied until I saw the e-mail and TLS thread about it. I thought it was a CLEO pay for a $1K course thing before I actually researched further into what SEO was.

for those that don't get into SEO and are from/going to school in NYC: https://www.nycourts.gov/attorneys/leo/

there's no internship with $$$ but it's free and has the law school prep aspect

let them know that I've done a crazy amount of research on the firms and memorized the partner-in-charges' bios (including what nonprofit boards they're on)

FWIW I think people on TLS in general skew towards t20/t13 schools and definitely at least tier 1? Not sure if Howard is tier 1 or 2, but I think 90 percent of applicants must be from lower ranked schools for them to keep that -10 percent acceptance rate. There might be 100s of applicants out there not on TLS that have already been rejected/no interview, right?

Nah I'm sure no one has been rejected yet

Eta: I think first "rejections" come if you aren't invited to interview, next ones are after the deposit deadline and all admits. Then again, they may switch it up this year like they have many other things..

That's what I'm guessing. When I looked at last years' thread, basically people who hadn't heard anything in early to mid-May figured they didn't get SEO

The past has been rejections a few days after admit calls w rejections being via email. But that's what I meant. most rejects are probably people who don't get asked to interview and t20 (or t14?) --> interview it looks like. so TLS isn't to representative

Hey guys, so I am in a dilemma of sorts. I applied to SEO law this year with the intention of starting law school this fall.. I was accepted to Harvard, but with deferred admission, so I am enrolled to start in Fall 2018. When the director interviewed me I had mentioned that I was accepted to Harvard, and I uploaded my enrollment confirmation about 10 days ago. However, I assume that I won't be accepted for this summer because I won't start school until next fall.. has anyone heard of a situation similar to mine? Thoughts?

You'll definitely be a strong candidate next year! but the above is true - e-mailing could also open up a spot to another candidate in whatever region you applied to

Has anyone heard anything tonight or is the general consensus that acceptances will really start rolling in later in the week?
