Based on what everyone was saying in the thread, I think there's just a group of people who are going to get their apps reviewed more than usual.

Did you guys go to your undergrad professors to ask about advice for picking schools? I did today and got unuseful and old information. The professor that is a lawyer at my school, even told me to try to use the full ride at Chapman to negotiate with USC. Like USC would even care lol

I don't think I will. Even though I'm sure it would be well-intended, I don't think many adults know enough to help with the decision. I've noticed my own parents don't even really get it. I even thought about making a damn powerpoint the other day!

Re: URM 2016-2017 Cycle Thread
Got my acceptance packet for Loyola today.
Toured USC. I was really impressed with what I saw. The campus is beautiful, so is the law school. They have a huge law library, plus so many events happen at school. They also give each student an alumni mentor, a student mentor, and a student tutor. The alumni network believes in paying it forward and helping people in school right now out. Just waiting to see the money I get from them.

How are everyone's cycles going so far compared to your initial expectations? Based on the drop in high LSAT scores this cycle, I'm hoping most people's are going better than expected

I am in that weird space where I am getting into a lot of my top choices (shout out to NYU and Michigan), but am still waiting on my dream schools (Columbia/Harvard) and also don't even know if I can attend any of the schools I got into because I haven't gotten scholarship information from anyone yet. So admissions-wise going great, financial aid-wise who the heck knows.hammy393 wrote:How are everyone's cycles going so far compared to your initial expectations? I got into Georgetown yesterday, and I am pretty pleased with that. I am <25 GPA and LSAT, and I expected that with applying post Dec LSAT, I'd be waiting awhile on everyone.

are there downsides to withdrawing from a WL this early? got waitlisted at chicago yesterday. I've gotten into my top choice already (t-6) and two other choices in the t-14 that I would have likely gone to over UC had I gotten in. I also know that WL usually receive little to no money, so I'm wondering if there's a point to staying on. I have this nagging feeling that I shouldn't withdraw too early, but I don't see a point in staying on.

Doubt it. I withdrew from penn the same day they waitlisted me. If it's a school you're seriously considering though I would stay on.20171lhopeful wrote:are there downsides to withdrawing from a WL this early? got waitlisted at chicago yesterday.
