Thanks guys! I have a 3.59 and I'm interested in a duel degree JD/MST so I'll just try to really show the admissions team how dedicated I am to studying law, religion, and it's implications for race and social justice.

Thanks. I kinda went dark because of my score (152), but the good news is it opened my eyes to some schools I wouldn’t have considered. I’m interested in Entertainment Law in LA, so I’m going to apply to Southwestern nowKENYADIGG1T wrote:I just want to send some love out to those who took the December LSAT. You all will be fantastic lawyers no matter the score, and I'm glad to know y'all, if only virtually

Re: URM 2017-2018 Cycle Thread
I've been lurking on this thread for a file and silently watching. A philosopher once said, "real G's move in silence like lasagna." I am now ready to move like my Uncle after too many Coronas.
Submitted to most mid-October (Yale, NYU, and Stanford early December) - got a JS1 from Harvard on 11/14. Chicago Interview last week. The rest has been dead silent. I applied to T8 (UVA being the 8th) and Georgetown.
AA Male, 3.9 and mid-160's. 2 years full-time relevant W/E while attending UG. Interned on the Hill. National Champions of Collegiate Policy Debate 2016-2017.
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate. I wish you the best in this cycle.

First I thought the LSAT was the most frustrating part of this process, then personal statements, then waiting, but this - this takes the cake.AvatarMeelo wrote:so looking forward to working on need-based aid apps...

Re: URM 2017-2018 Cycle Thread
FAFSA was super easy since we can now import stuff via IRS Data Retrieval Tool. But I remember seeing somewhere that some schools use CSS and I remember that being awful to fill out back in undergrad. Anyway, I'm gonna probs make a chart of need-based apps that can be filled out BEFORE getting accepted so I'll come back and post that stuff whenever that happens!

Another lurker checking in! Honestly this seems to be the only place on TLS that has an ounce of perspective/sanity, so thank you for the support through this cycle.
Columbia 3.67 GPA/167 LSAT/Cuban male
1.5 years in financial prosecution/other softs are fine I think
Applied to like 9 of the T14, as well as regional NY/NJ schools, all through Thanksgiving
Into Gtown(!!), Brooklyn Law school and Seton Hall so far
Top 5 are Columbia, NYU, Duke, Mich, and Gtown (hooked on ILaw lol)
Always happy to look over essays!

Re: URM 2017-2018 Cycle Thread
Whew I just finished 9 schools need based apps and I’m stuck on my 10th because I can’t find my 2016 w-2 from college. Just why...
Need Based (not all the schools just some)
G-Town: FAFSA, CSS, Yellow Financial Aid Form, Blue Financial Form, 2016 Tax Return (parent and student), 2016 w-2 (parent and student)
Cornell: FAFSA, Cornell Scholarship App, CSS, 2016 Tax Return (parent and student)
UVA: complete FAFSA (doesn’t care about parental info)
Berkeley: Berkeley scholarship app (must be completed within 30 days of acceptance), FAFSA, other supporting documents
BU: Alumni scholarship app, FAFSA, other supporting documents
*if you come from a single parent household:
- CSS Profile: Noncustodial parent waiver form and 1-2 supporting documents (letters from clergy, psychiatrist, guidance counselor, teacher, etc)
- Some schools (Berkeley, etc): a letter from you detailing your request for the noncustodial parent waiver and 1-2 supporting documents (letters from clergy, psychiatrist, guidance counselor, teacher, etc)
