Yeah, I'm honestly not losing any sleep over this rejection. All of my friends familiar with Ithaca think I would've hated it there. More than anything, the email rejection now has me paranoid about getting email alerts because I'm worried about the schools I actually really want hitting me with the "We're sorry to inform you" toopoptart123 wrote:If you look at the 2015 vs 2016 509, every score for 25/50/75 went down for them. Hey guys! So, I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but i'm wondering if anyone knows anything about scholarship options at the T-14. I currently have a 170 and a little over a 3.91 at what's considered a top5 school [I;m MA]. Should I wait to apply and try to score higher on the LSAT in order to maximize full ride offers? Any info is greatly appreciated!

To anyone prepping for the SEO interview & looking at the firms: What have you guys been looking at on the sites to try to narrow down your favorites? I've been trying to do an initial narrow down by looking at what sectors they focus in/some of the clients they've had - and location of course - but I have no idea what else to look at and I feel like I have a very superficial process so far

So, same LSAT lower GPA at a top 5 LAC w/ grade deflation. Here's my thread on chances http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 1#p9201751.ehernandez wrote:Hey guys! I haven't heard back scholarship-wise, but here's my cycle so far: in at NYU, BC, BU, UCLA, Mich (Darrow interview invite), Duke PT, and Northwestern. JS1 at Harvard tomorrow. Interviewed at Columbia and Cornell already, waiting to hear. Otherwise just UR/ready for review at the other five schools I applied to (not Yale or Stanford)
So with a much nicer GPA than me (good job btw), you should be in a good spot I think? But if you do re-take you would be more eligible for some other named scholarship my GPA disqualifies me for.
TL;DR follow me on law school numbers and think about whether you really want to go through the LSAT again - you already scored better than 97% of people.

So I have my SEO interview today. Literally hate Skype, but it is what it is. For whatever reason, my username on Skype was my phone number. Remembered that during my Vandy interview, she ended up calling me on the phone because I guess it charges tokens or something to call phone numbers? Trying to make things easier, I created a NEW Skype username that ISN'T a number -- just to be safe. Sent an email to my interviewer last night after I did it. Haven't received an email confirming she got the new username. Guess I'll just have to sign in under one username on my laptop and the other on the good ol' desktop to make sure I don't miss the call

Researching their partners was super time-consuming but also kind of interesting since I never really looked up firms before.

Will do! Also, I started a 2016-2017 SEO Law Applicants thread in this subgroup if anyone's interested in checking in there. The former SEO Law thread is SOOO long - I mean the thing dates back to like 2009 - and I think they changed the program a little, so I figured it'd be nice for us, and also for next year's applicants at least, to have a newer thread that doesn't require hours and hours of our lives to find potentially important info. I think I'll ever try to update the OP with different info like any good interview tips/insight and stuff so people don't have to try to keyword search like I was last night

Edit: here's the link to the new thread

Re: URM 2016-2017 Cycle Thread
Just finished my interview. It was about half an hour (including me asking some questions).
Regarding preparing for the interview, my main recommendation would be to research firms, because they do ask you to talk about a couple firms that might interest you. The rest of it was actually kind of similar to interviews I've had so far for law schools. Based on past threads, the interviews used to be "stress interviews" but it definitely was not like that at all. It was really conversational and pleasant. Basically, know the firms they partner with that interest you, have answers for the typical "Why" questions you'd expect from an interviewer, and also be prepared with any questions you might have.
I really hope I get selected for this! I think it's a super awesome opportunity and will definitely help me "get my feet wet" when it comes to both law school curriculum and the legal profession. *fingers crossed*
If anyone has any more specific questions, feel free to PM me.

This morning I was shocked with a fee waiver from Columbia. I had given up on getting any more from the t14 so now I'm wondering if I should hold off on my Michigan app until I see if one shows up (I e-mailed them and they basically just said to wait to see if it shows up via CRS)

Waitlist at Penn lol
On a positive note though, Chapman invited me to a cruise. They will pay for milage, hotel, food, and all.

I think being wait-listed for Penn is not a bad thing. There are lots of other schools in the running for you still, no?

Yeah it's better than getting outright rejected lol. Saw some people who had better stats than me who were rejected on law school numbers. So they must have liked something about my application. Yes I still have 16 other schools that I am waiting on. I'm not sad at allsfn91 wrote:Lol! Chapman be doing too much!Mr_Chukes wrote:Waitlist at Penn lol

Random but, what does everyone think about Steve Harvey's recent mess?
