Checking in! AA female 3.6/162 applied to UCLA, USC, UCI, Cornell, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, and a few other safety schools. Finessed some fee waivers out of a couple. Not sure my chances at any of these schools, but I'm definitely getting an extra special lesson in patience waiting to hear back!

Good luck, I hope you get into all the schools you are hoping for. I am a California Native as well.lawpotato wrote:Checking in! Where can one find these numbers?DriveLikeNashvillian wrote:After looking at some of the urm numbers NYU has accepted in this and previous cycles, I'm kinda regretting not applying, even though I really don't have any interest in going, but I'm wondering if an acceptance (in the unlikely event I got in) would be any use in scholarship negotiation since I probably wouldn't get much, if any, money from them. My number one choice is Vanderbilt, but most people say they don't negotiate scholarships, so would I really just be wasting 30 bucks applying to NYU at this point in the cycle?

I don't think this is true. If anything, diversity is a priority for schools and they might try to scoop up URMs (which there are few of) early. I'm at the T6s 25ths or below for both LSAT/GPA, and I've gotten interview requests from Harvard/Columbia and admitted to NYUdinan15 wrote:Hey guys, quick question:

Gah am I just supposed to like... pick a firm? That seems odd. Also (petty alert) why are all the interview times so early.

I think I snatched up the last reasonable time all month. I kept seeing 5am (I'm two hours behind them) & was like "helllll nah" so I took interviewing sooner than I wanted to over interviewing at the crack of dawn

Yeah I waited to consult a friend and the only 4pm (CST) slot was taken. I waited to think for THREE MINUTES and a 6am I was willing to go for was taken! So I am just waiting until I am back on EST. Figures it gives me a chance to go through this list: http://www.seolaw.org/partners/our-partners/brinicolec wrote:azaleafire wrote:Gah am I just supposed to like... pick a firm? That seems odd. I'm 4 for 4 right now in my acceptances. Just hoping my luck continues and I get accepted to UT or Mich. Even if I don't at least I know I have options available to me. My cycle is going much better than I expected when I opened up that email in October.

Don't worry about it too much. Looking at the acceptance forum and the law admissions subreddit it looks like Cornell is rejecting everyone, even if you meet their numbers or exceed them. I'm sure you'll get into a higher ranked school.uhwrestler wrote:so far for my t-14 apps

really upset about cornell i really liked ithaca and cornell's campus
im really surprised about cornell i was at median gpa and 25th lsat urm aa male
many ppl with my stats were accepted last year
hopefully i fare better at chicago and columbia and other t-14's
kinda of worried about my chances at higher ranked schools now since cornell is 13 and i was dinged

The consensus on TLS so far seems to be that we think Cornell is trying to get a better ranking (so they're trying to raise their medians + probably make themselves look more selective). Someone with a 180 got rejected. Don't take it too hard.Torres1893 wrote:Don't worry about it too much. I got rejected from Cornell but I've already been accepted to Michigan (a higher ranked school).
