ugh... since i've submitted my apps i have been unable to fall asleep until far too late, which is fucking with my productivity at work and my ability to finish this damn senior thesis on time. i'd be so much better off with at least one acceptance under my belt. what do yall have planned for the rest of december?

I'm sitting in the library on TLS to procrastinate from my own thesis right now. Also it's almost harder to focus once you start getting acceptances because it really amps up the senioritis. It's super hard to care about an undergrad thesis when your grad school days seem that much closer!!! Good luck on your cycle and the thesis!ht2988 wrote:ugh... since i've submitted my apps i have been unable to fall asleep until far too late, which is fucking with my productivity at work and my ability to finish this damn senior thesis on time. i'd be so much better off with at least one acceptance under my belt. what do yall have planned for the rest of december?

Congrats everyone!!!
I have been asking for fee waivers. WUSTL, SMU, and Alabama seem to give them out easily if anyone is still looking for some schools to apply to. They also just give you the code so you dont have to mail in another form.
The admins at Alabama are so nice

I definitely agree with this. I'm so glad that I'm graduating this semester. I can't imagine going through another semester with the feelings of senioritis that I've been feeling after that first acceptance. For me pushing through the anxiety of waiting was a lot easier than pushing through the lack of motivation.law_monkey wrote:I'm sitting in the library on TLS to procrastinate from my own thesis right now. Credited. I cant imagine going through another semester. Ive already consciously decided to let myself get a B or B+ in my science class. Only need an 88 on the final for the A- but just dont have the energy to try. All I have to do is get higher than a 66 and ride off into the sunset.Fresh wrote: I definitely agree with this. Congrats to all the soon to be graduates.
I am working on finishing a post-grad certificate program that I started because my job was paying for it and I was bored
If it weren't for the thought of leaving it incomplete on my resume (and probably having to partially reimburse my employer), I'd just quit now....

Re: URM 2010-2011 Application Cycle
Hello everyone!
I wasn't sure if I was a URM, since I'm a non MX/PR hispanic (south american)
BUT I was able to log in to Michigan's admitted students' website today!
I'm so excited!
During my application process, I browsed TLS for info on whether or not "other hispanics" get a boost, and it seemed that the consensus was that other hispanics would get a very small one if any at all.
I hope my case will give some hope to all non URM Latinos who feel that they can contribute to the diversity in top law schools!
Anyway, my numbers are 163/3.8-3.85 and I ED'd to Mich. I'm straight out of undergrad (state school), with no prestigious work experience. Thanks guys and good luck!

As I have told you, I am also "other hispanic" and got into GULC (RD, Full time).
TLS doesn't have a clue with regards to this subject.
Keep the faith "other Hispanics"

Re: URM 2010-2011 Application Cycle
No Yale b/c A) I didnt go to a prestigious undergrad so I dont think my chances are amazingly high and i would like to keep my $112 and B) Even if accepted, I have a gf who will, most likely, be moving with me and will need to look for a job in a field that basically requires a decent sized city. Still, if I get a yes from Stanford I will throw an app Yale's way just to make sure all bases covered.High_Hopes wrote:why didn't you apply to yale and how did lsac drop your gpa so much?tkgrrett wrote:My lsn account is now in my profile for anyone who wants cycle details so far.
The difference in lsdas gpa and degree gpa is b/c I transferred schools after my freshman year(not so stellar). My degree gpa only includes my sophomore and junior year grades while the lsdas gpa includes all 3.
