They have a goal of 20% AA students by 2020 from what I was told by a current URM student so I think we are seeing them make a genuine effort to get to that numberjnwa wrote:Congrats, is it me or is Duke showing the most urm love in the t14 so far this year?wunderwoman wrote:In at Duke by email! Does anyone have any idea how much of an indication one school's admittance is of your chances of admittance at similar T-14s? For example if one were to have been accepted at NYU and Duke and has an interview at Chicago but hasn't heard anything at all from schools like UVA and Penn is it plausible that they were an auto-reject at the latter schools? Essentially is there some form of similarity between the T-14s acceptance formulas?

Re: URM 2015-2016 Cycle Thread
If you're talking about yourself then I'm in the same spot and all I know is Penn yeild protects like crazy. Plus I think they're still going through their EDs right now. As far as UVA idk I'm in at NYU and interviewed at CC but still under review at UVA.StringerSoprano_6062 wrote:Does anyone have any idea how much of an indication one school's admittance is of your chances of admittance at similar T-14s? Congrats on Duke everyone! That's awesome.
I had my JS1 this week (still processing that one) and I felt really good about it. Fingers crossed.
Hope to see more movement in this thread before the holidays! Let's get it!

Re: URM 2015-2016 Cycle Thread
Hi all. I finally got my letters of recommendations from professors this week (I've been badgering them for ages but there was little I could do). Should I be worried about my admissions chances? It's pretty late in the cycle... I'm really scared now. I wasn't aware we were supposed to get it in so early before I checked this site today.

Re: JS1 questions?
The questions definitely aligned with whats posted (talk about job, why (x) major, why law school, etc. Also, maybe a couple more unique and focused questions drawn from items in your personal statement, resume, etc.). No surprises or curveballs. I think just focusing on building the rapport was most helpful (and was easier to do on Skype than over the phone).Oskosh wrote:Hey, I read that you had your JS1 a few days ago. Would you mind telling me whether the questions aligned to what you saw on the board? I have my JS1 soon, and I am incredibly nervous to be in it. I was hoping you would be able to allay some of my fears haha.condensation wrote:Congrats on Duke everyone! That's awesome.
