Interesting... I did a little bit of research and, according to my calculations, last year there were 366 URM applicants on LSN; this year there are only 216. Y'all think this (pretty substantial) drop is indicative of a drop in the total number of URMs that are applying this year, or just an LSN thing?

it does not mean much. People create lsn profiles later in the cycle. If you check back in a month or so, your number may go up. Also i can also argue that since lsn is not something everyone does/knows about, you can't use it as a representative sample.

You make a good point that the final number of URMs on LSN for this cycle will be higher later in the year, but it doesn't seem like it can explain a 40ish% drop in URMs registering for the website, especially given what we are hearing about the number of applicants/LSAT takers dropping.

Update: just got a $13,000 scholly from w&l...not a big deal compared to everyone else but at 154/3.19...I couldn't believe I was even accepted

also, WL'd at georgetown and HELD (applied EA) at UT.

i'm 3.37/167/mexican, so i guess i'm not auto-ding and i'm certainly far from auto-admit. going on 3 months, does being URM have something to do with the great silence from most of my schools?

Congrats! That alone is awsome. I'm a HA male with a 152 LSAT, but only a 3.06 LSDAS GPA and was deferred to the regular pool.

I'm in slightly similar circumstances. I haven't heard anything from Michigan and UCLA despite having applied in early October. I think a lot of schools are trying to see how their applicant pool shapes up given the drop in test takers/applications.

I think that's exactly what is going on... I only applied in-state but I have noticed the same trend - 3rd tier answers quickly, 2nd tier answers quick, top tier - nothing heard back yet. But it's not just me - all of my friends applying this cycle are hearing back from schools in the same order, same speed... and they aren't URM. So I doubt it has any thing to do with that.

Held at Northwestern today ( my alma mater) :/ they requested an on campus interview. I took two undergrad classes with professors from the law school - I wouldn't say I got 'close' to them enough for a rec but I'm thinking of reaching out to them for some advice...maybe?

A little advice wouldn't hurt (okay, assuming that the advice is sound). If one of them helped spark your interest in the school, bring it up in the interview.

+1 one very much did actually - the course was called "American lawyers : demystifying the profession" lol I just didn't want name dropping to sound too eager or snobbish during the interview :p

Is Michigan being really weird this cycle? I have heard from Chi and NYU but not them which is surprising. I almost feel as if theyre just waiting on me to withdraw because they feel Im not too interested in the school and most likely wont be attending.
