I go to church. I used to go out but church was safer, cheaper, and really helped me cleanse my spirit for the new year.wlee1220 wrote:Am I the only one that does that whole watch night church thing on NYE? I always wanna do something different, but the fam would never let me live that one down...

Long time stalker who finally decided to join. I'm a AA female applying this cycle. I have no idea how my cycle is going to go since I'm applying so late ( waiting to receive my score from the December 2013 LSAT administration and my transcripts + 2nd LOR still haven't arrived at LSAC UGH) but I'm not opposed to applying again next year. It'll give me more time to bump up my LSAT score too!
I know most of you have already sent in your applications, but is anyone out there in the same boat as me? It would be nice to have a little company lol.
Anyway, have a great New Year's everybody and be safe!
Yes, you have company. I think alpwilliams is in a similar boat as well as a few others who sat in December for the first time....maybe Dr. Zero and XicaDiSilva (sp?). You're definitely not alone here.

Is it too late to solicit fee waivers? I am thinking about trying to get one from UTexas.

I don't think so bc Dec scores will be coming out soon, and with that another waive of waivers will be coming out, so you might as well try!mandyjay11 wrote:Is it too late to solicit fee waivers? I am thinking about trying to get one from UTexas.
I did try to solicit a merit-based one from Texas with no success (said they only give out CRS ones), but you may have better success!

Mandy this is what UT Austin told me if you want to give it a try:mandyjay11 wrote:Is it too late to solicit fee waivers? I am thinking about trying to get one from UTexas.
Hello,
The only fee waiver an applicant can apply for is a need-based waiver. UT Law offers a limited number of merit-based waivers through LSAC’s CRS Program. You cannot apply or request a merit-based waiver. To ensure consideration, you need to register with CRS.
For consideration for need-based application fee waiver, the applicant must demonstrate financial need, present a competitive academic record, the Law School must have a clear interest in admitting the student, and the limit on fee waivers has not been reached. To apply for this type of fee waiver, an applicant must submit an Application for Fee Waiver, available online at http://utdirect.utexas.edu/loadm/areq.WBX?page_sw=1. The completed Application for Fee Waiver form must be submitted along with a completed application for admission no later than March 1. If a fee waiver is denied, the applicant will be given an opportunity to submit the required fee.

Does anyone know if LSAC being closed for the holidays affects when complete reports are sent to schools?

Question time:
Do the classes you take in law school matter?

I thought it would for mine. I was going to send em in after the holidays but decided to complete them all 2 days ago. On the LSAC website it says my reports were sent, and plenty of schools have already contacted me to let me know they received.coolbean2013 wrote:Does anyone know if LSAC being closed for the holidays affects when complete reports are sent to schools?
It might matter for today/tomorrow because LSAC staff might literally be off for New Years Day.

Wondering about this too. I definitely want to take some International/Human Rights Law classes but don't know how closely firms scruntinize the courses on your transcript.okaygo wrote:Question time:
