Still deciding on whether to apply to Yale. Any opinions? 3.77/167/AA female. It's such a long shot+the 250 has me stumped. I did receive an unsoliticited fee waiver application.

Do it esp with the fee waiver. I say this only bc 1) you're at Stanford 2) Why not?1212 wrote:Congrats on all the great acceptances guys!! So exciting!

Yeah, I think I was an auto-admit at Emory and Howard? Got decisions unexpectedly after 2 weeks of going complete late in the cycle. Wish the T-14 made quick and decisive decisions...kmh504 wrote:In at American todayhas anyone else been getting fast decisions? Finally under review at Berkeley - probably a top 2 choice. Not feeling too optimistic considering the blood bath emails they sent out today, the large amount of earlier acceptances and my late app...

I went complete at Vanderbilt and got accepted a week later. Darn, there goes my special snowflake theory...cylon_clone wrote:Yeah, I think I was an auto-admit at Emory and Howard? Oh, the ambiguity of "holistic" approaches.

Little update:
In:
NYU
Penn
UVA
GULC
WL:
UChi
Mich
Waiting:
Harvard (held)
Stanford
Michigan (held)
Columbia
I'm a splitter so not expecting much from H and S. To be honest this cycle hasn't gone as well as I'd hoped, but I guess that speaks to the argument that the URM boost matters more for high GPA/low LSAT candidates. Still, I've gotten into some great schools and am sure I will be happy wherever I end up!

I'm hoping URM splitters like us get love towards the end when T3 folks start making their decisions. If not you're right, we'll be happy wherever we end up (I'd trade my Mich for your Penn though....)

Great cycles guys! Today is the start of Black history month and I have a dream...that I will get into Yale. No seriously, last night I had a dream that I opened the acceptance letter
). Here's to Feb. being a month of good news!

I once dreamt that I was slapped by Condoleezza Rice after getting rejected from Stanford. So yeah, I like your dream better.kmh504 wrote:Great cycles guys! And I just went UR at Stanford so there's still hope...happy Black History Month everyone, and happy cycling.

Re: 2011 - 2012 URM Application Cycle
Interesting... I did a little bit of research and, according to my calculations, last year there were 366 URM applicants on LSN; this year there are only 216. Y'all think this (pretty substantial) drop is indicative of a drop in the total number of URMs that are applying this year, or just an LSN thing?

it does not mean much. People create lsn profiles later in the cycle. If you check back in a month or so, your number may go up. Also i can also argue that since lsn is not something everyone does/knows about, you can't use it as a representative sample.

I really wish Harvard and Columbia would love me.
and for those familiar with the AnBryce, you hear if you are wanted for a interview in Feb, and the interview takes place at NYU in March, correct?
