Status checker changed to "decision made; watch for email" at about 7:30 PM, spent the next 6+ hours checking the Blackberry for the email. Not saying anything, just lettin' y'all know how I found out. Props to Duke on trying to keep their Priority Track promise, even over the break. Good luck to all with your cycles.masterthearts wrote:How did you get accepted at 1:47 am on a holiday weekend? Are you making this up? In at Pacific/McGeorge.
It's a very humble acceptance compared to the others, but it's my first, so I'm happy, and you gotta start somewhere. Now to wait for the other 29 schools.

Yeah, lots of waivers and money to burn, I've been saving for this for a while now. I'm considering it an investment... least that's what I keep telling myself.RJ127 wrote:Daaaaaang! 29 schools?! Hope you had waivers. Or Jay-Z money. Good luck though!Flett wrote:In at Pacific/McGeorge.

Yeah same here. Spending like $500+ tonight at midnight when I get paid. And that's AFTER about 10-11 waivers. It's crazy.Flett wrote:Yeah, lots of waivers and money to burn, I've been saving for this for a while now. Hey everyone! This is my first time posting on this thread, but I thought I'd join in on the fun. I'm an AA female in at Washington and Lee, William and Mary, Georgetown, Duke, and Cornell - still waiting on 11 other schools. Congratulations to all the amazing acceptances you all have so far, and good luck with the rest of the cycle!

Congrats yall!! And Flett, don't water down your acceptance!! "IN" followed by [insert name law school] should always be applauded by our community.
Depending on individual circumstances and interests, it's the "Going to..." part that might require some pause for concern. lol CONGRATS!

Re: URM 2010-2011 Application Cycle
also what do people feel is appropriate etiquette for withdrawing apps? i want to go to the asw for most of these schools because i made my UG decision very early without looking around at all and kind of wish i'd taken more time. that said, there's just about no chance i'd go to cornell or duke (assuming i get in). is it ok to wait and visit to make sure i don't love the place or should i withdraw now?
obviously i'll make my own decision, but i'm curious as to what people think.

Re: URM 2010-2011 Application Cycle
I'd err on the side of caution. I'd wait until I was 100% sure then I would withdraw. I'd also wait for leveraging purposes, but you already have UVA full ride so I don't think you need Duke or Cornell. So yeah, I'd say it's okay to wait, even though there's just about no chance you'd get in.CryingMonkey wrote:also what do people feel is appropriate etiquette for withdrawing apps? i want to go to the asw for most of these schools because i made my UG decision very early without looking around at all and kind of wish i'd taken more time. that said, there's just about no chance i'd go to cornell or duke (assuming i get in). is it ok to wait and visit to make sure i don't love the place or should i withdraw now?

Re: URM 2010-2011 Application Cycle
You paid (at minimum) your $12 bucks and maybe more, so why not wait for your decisions? That's just my take on it. I'm probably going to withdraw from South Carolina but I wouldn't have done it before I got my decision.CryingMonkey wrote:also what do people feel is appropriate etiquette for withdrawing apps? i want to go to the asw for most of these schools because i made my UG decision very early without looking around at all and kind of wish i'd taken more time. that said, there's just about no chance i'd go to cornell or duke (assuming i get in). is it ok to wait and visit to make sure i don't love the place or should i withdraw now?
