What is your disadvantage story if you mind sharing?
that's the gist of me.
*by the way, ms. williams was GRILLING me about the classes I did bad in, asking me to provide her an explanations. made me feel like i was in the HOT SEAT and she could revoke my law school acceptances.
I hope your relatives in Haiti are ok.
Yeah I hope she calls me though I need to get into CLEo.

1. Thanks for your support, Trelawny! As of right now, my family and I haven't heard anything from anyone in Haiti. this is depressing since we have a number of relatives over there. But the one positive from all of this is, for the most part, people have been galvanizing and started realizing Haiti's historic plight and are actively looking for ways to help out.Trelawny wrote:I hope your relatives in Haiti are ok.

2. As far as Ms. Williams, I think she calls candidates whom she considers borderline/on the fence and wants to get a better feel of their application file, etc. before making her selections. For all I know, she could've not liked my responses to her questions about my weaker grades and crossed my name off her list. So, don't get discouraged if you end up not getting a call from her. Hell, don't get discouraged if you hear of others getting in before you do. For all you know, you could be a shoe-in acceptance. Keep your head up, stay positive and remember that everything happens for a reason.
Best of luck to you!

to be clear i didn't mean scholarship for the program. i can pay for that. i meant does the program offer any scholarships for school when you're done?Mayimbe wrote:There were about 2-3 ppl who were 30+ last year so dont get discouraged. Nah, I think she probably called to see if you were still interested. Given like myself you applied early and a male candidate. Looking at it the only poor grade I have is a C+. My G.PA was 3.6. I will call again today to inquire some more.

i think you get a CLEO grant and (maybe!) a scholarship depending on your performance in the institute. i hear the grant isn't any less than the $2G you pay and it's renewable.
so, from an economic standpoint, you're putting in $2G to get (at least) $6G for all 3 years of law school. plus you get to attend bar-prep seminars, alumni get-togethers, social events, etc. for free.
it's worth the investment, even though that $2G is tough to cough up!

Haha. I completely understand. I have two babies and the thought of having to leave them for 6 weeks is killing me. However, it really is a small sacrifice for a great opportunity that will prove very beneficial to your future. By the way, I am 28 (def non-trad)!!
To all who have applied...the suspense is killing me!!!!!!!!!!

Re: CLEO 2010
Yea neither did I. I was referring to when you are done with the program. Yes, we all thought it was kind of "silly" to base our scholarship award on our income but that's just the way they do it. But how it was stated earlier, the $2,000 you pay is nothing to what you get back. You'll make that back and more...fl0w wrote:to be clear i didn't mean scholarship for the program. i can pay for that. i meant does the program offer any scholarships for school when you're done?Mayimbe wrote:There were about 2-3 ppl who were 30+ last year so dont get discouraged. Hi,
Are you planning to re-locate with the children? Because if you can not go 6 weeks without them going away to law school will be worst.

Hey I'm the same age, but the thought of moving away from home is exciting to me. I can't stand to live with my Jamaican parents another day.ATOIsp07 wrote:ohh, how old are your children? leaving them for 6 weeks is a big sacrifice but it is worth it. but i couldn't imagine my mom leaving for 6 weeks...and i'm 22 years old!Kiory wrote:Haha.
