Re: 2016 SEO Applicants
I just started the application today after realizing that, in fact, there were multiple rounds of deadlines.
Anyway, does anyone have any info on the dates of the program? e.g. training, etc. Are there different rounds of training or just one?
The reason why I ask is because my school is on the crappy quarter system and I graduate almost in mid-June. It's ridiculous, really, and has prevented me from pursuing a crapton of interesting internships that start in may.
SEO used to have a lot more information on their website about this but not anymore?? Now there's just a weird youtube video with stick figures running in place as "ENTERTAINMENT LAW" and "SPORTS LAW" appear in bold overhead.
edit: also, is the headshot necessary? They make it seem optional but TLSers has always talked about it as a presumed requirement or something.

I'm pretty confused by the application for this, and I'm wondering if I am maybe looking the wrong application. Is the program that is always discussed on here "SEO career," or there another SEO program? I started an application for SEO career, and it is an extremely short application. Pretty much just name, school, gpa, and race. I didn't see any of the "academic info" or "interest and experience" tabs that others have discussed =/ Any insight is appreciated!

Re: 2016 SEO Applicants
So that's the initial application, if I remember correctly. I remember listing only law as my area of interest and when I logged in a day or two later, I had LSAT and Law School info fields waiting to be populated where I uploaded my PS and put in the schools I had applied to etc. Hope this helps.180kickflip wrote:Bump180kickflip wrote:**please dont quote**

Also if it's worth anything - haven't heard anything back regarding an interview and I applied Round One. I'm guessing it's still really early for them and we're all in the same boat?

Re: 2016 SEO Applicants
Training last summer lasted one week and was the first week of the program, which was the week of May 26th iirc. There was also some online training you had to do before arriving. The summer also ends with the exam academy, which was at the end of July.Interficio wrote:I just started the application today after realizing that, in fact, there were multiple rounds of deadlines.

Re: headshots, I submitted one with the initial app, but I literally just suited up and took a picture in my room. They asked again for one later, I don't recall if it was before or after I was accepted. By that time I went to a photo studio and got one done, just to have one for linkedin etc. Ultimately they're going to need one to send to the firms etc., but I don't think you need to get a professional one. Also, when you get placed at a firm, the firm is going to need a headshot for your firm ID.
EDIT: Oh as far as application timeline, I applied in early November and got my interview invite a month later in early December. So invites should probably start going out in the next week or two if they haven't already.

In addition, the most recent email they sent out says although not required it is highly recommended you submit one.Uncivil Procedure wrote:Training last summer lasted one week and was the first week of the program, which was the week of May 26th iirc. I did not submit a photo when I applied. I was asked to submit one after I was accepted into the program.FairchildFLT wrote:In addition, the most recent email they sent out says although not required it is highly recommended you submit one.Uncivil Procedure wrote:Training last summer lasted one week and was the first week of the program, which was the week of May 26th iirc. Re: 2016 SEO Applicants
Has anyone applied/got accepted to SEO while also prepping for a retake? My numbers should get me into some T-14 schools but I think I need to raise my LSAT a bit for the dream. Will a June take interfere with SEO?

Re: 2016 SEO Applicants
I think a June retake would take you out of the running for SEO. During the webinar, it was mentioned that the program starts in May. Also, SEO only accepts people who have been admitted to law school and I gather a June retake would mean a law school admission for 2017.

Does the application resubmit every time you update it? This is an extremely awkward application they got going.

Don't worry guys. Last year it was a slow process. Just be ready to move where ever it is you need to move for your internship just in case.

Got the same email. It's not that your application is not complete, it's that they want it updated. This is the second time I've gotten this. If you've done anything special since applying, add it. If not just change the date and resubmit.Howard2Harvard wrote:Just recieved an "process update " email. Re: 2016 SEO Applicants
agreed with the above. I was nervous at first. but I think it is just a general, if you haven't yet update your app do it. I do not think it was specific, but I might email just to confirm whether my app is complete and that they have heard from me before Feb. 20th.FairchildFLT wrote:Got the same email. Okay cool thanks! Did you scan and upload an actual copy of your official transcript? I just realized I was being lazy and submitted a pdf of my web one.FairchildFLT wrote:Got the same email. Re: 2016 SEO Applicants
I emailed them following that email asking if my application is complete or is something missing and I got this. Was the email they sent us all "reaching out directly"?Thank you for contacting the SEO Law inbox. We have received your message. Please note that we cannot confirm the receipt of application materials due to the large volume of information passing through the application system. If we need anything from you, we will reach out directly.

Also got that email. I'm pretty certain that my application is complete, though. Hopefully there will be interview requests soon!

I uploaded an electronic copy of my official transcript so it is easier for them to read.Howard2Harvard wrote:Okay cool thanks! Did you scan and upload an actual copy of your official transcript?
