If you perform solid, whatever that may be, in law school and don't get Big Law, what is the average salary range for attorney's in the private sector?

One thing to keep in mind -- when you're saying "don't get BigLaw", you may actually be saying "don't get NYC/Boston/LA/etc. BigLaw." If you have ties to somewhere like, say, Denver, you have a good shot at picking up a secondary legal market, even if it's 125k a year or so.

LSAT is Monday and part of me just can't muster up any more energy to study or care about prepping. I guess "burnout" is the best description. I am dealing with some pretty serious health issues right now, so this is really not ideal timing to test, but there isn't really much choice. I'll be saddled with even more responsibilities come fall, so June it is.

Same here, I've been studying non stop since December and right now I'm just motivated to finally take the real test. Kinda sick of prep.

How does everyone who took the test today feel?

I feel pretty ok. I am completely unsure how I did but I did maintain my composure at least. The girl sitting behind me started to hyperventilate, then sob.

I can understand her freaking out, because it was already hard enough to concentrate, due to a huge conference meeting in the hallway outside. But then the proctor kept going in and out of the room, and the ambient noise in the room would fluctuate by a billion decibels each time. This was right in the middle of a tricky reading comp passage.

I stayed cool, did my best. Now all I can do is wait for the results!

Quick Question: Is anyone reaching out to alumni for LORs?

I'm wondering how much this helps. In my case, I work full time in a law office with two attorneys that graduated from my dream school, but don't have a relationship with either of them. Because of my office's weird dynamics and because I'm generally bad at networking, I'm not sure how important it is for me to try to formulate a relationship for LOR purposes (especially with tls users going on and on about how little they matter).

I get mixed reviews when I talk to people about this. Several lawyers who went to T14 schools said that they had an alum write a LOR for the school they ended up attending. I don't know if that's just a coincidence or what? I saw on Asha's blogs 2 thing's about this:
1. Don't have a famous/powerful/alum write a LOR just because -- makes for a hollow LOR.
2. If someone has ties to the school (ex: alum, wrote letters for other students, etc) then it should specifically state a comparison and have substance.

I finally found the people that will be doing my LOR for me so I'm working to get those done ASAP so that I can spend the summer working on my personal statement. The goal is to send out my applications the minute I get my scores back since apparently splitters have a better chance the earlier they apply.

Is anyone willing to PM the format they used for their resume? I haven't updated mine since junior year and I have no idea how to go about fixing it.
