I tried to find Penn LGBT recruiters but they weren't on facebook. Or were hidden. Probably because they were mostly 3Ls. Also, they were men so this wasn't for hotness purposes

I got one, but I'm pretty sure it was for my URM status.

I got an LGBT flier from Michigan and the Mormon flier, too--seemed kind of funny, really.dot wrote:Question - anyone else get a lot of gay recruiting from Mich?
Great thread--I'm 95% sure I'm going to UC Irvine, but not ruling out UCLA or U of Washington. I'm one of those indecisive people.

My Penn LGBT email/phone call was from a girl who is a 1L and is on facebook. Apparently they have more than one person doing all the gay stuff? That means there is a largish number of LGBT acceptances? Wishful thinking, I know.
On another note, the Michigan gay recruiting was awesome! If A2 wasn't so bitter cold and essentially too far from everything I want, I would have strongly considered going there. They even made an "It gets better" video and the head of their on campus gay group might be the nicest lesbian I've ever talked to.

Emory sent the LGBT fee waivers in November. So, maybe those who missed out where December test takers?paulinaporizkova wrote:I stand corrected then!BlueDevil2007 wrote:Damn, I didn't get one! Re: LGBT Class of 2014
Hmm... this was the e-mail sent on 11/22/2010:
Congratulations on successfully completing the LSAT. As you explore your legal education options, Emory Law should be at the top of your list. We write on behalf of Emory OUTLaw (Emory Law’s LGBT student organization) to provide you with information about what Emory offers LGBT students and students interested in LGBT legal issues.
We encourage you to become a member of our community and are pleased to waive your application fee for consideration in our Class of 2014. Simply insert the following code, [BLANKED OUT], when applying on the LSAC website.
OUTLaw is a student organization with more than 70 members. Active and visible at Emory Law, we organize social and advocacy events, such as a recent panel on legal developments surrounding the military’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy. Last year, we organized an ’80s prom that raised nearly $2,000 for AIDS Walk Atlanta. In addition to social and advocacy programming, we with our advisory board are working to endow an LGBT scholarship. This scholarship will be the first of its kind in the Southeast and will help establish Emory Law as a national leader for equality.
Beyond law school, Emory University is an incredibly welcoming and progressive environment for LGBT students and allies.
* The Office of Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender life provides resources and events for students.
* Established in 1995, the President’s Commission on Sexuality, Gender Diversity and Queer Equality is a group of students, staff and faculty working to keep Emory’s president informed of issues facing the LGBT community, ensuring that the University is equipped to face these issues head-on while providing resources and information to the entire community.
* University-wide organizations like the Queer Women’s Discussion Group and Transforming Emory are open to undergraduate and graduate students.
Atlanta is an exciting place to live. Aside from myriad historical and cultural offerings, Atlanta offers a vibrant LGBT community. Atlanta’s queer population is visible across the city. There are weekly queer-focused cultural and social events and activities, one of the biggest Gay Pride celebrations in America and 29 gay bars (and hundreds more that are gay friendly). In fact, a recent Advocate article named Atlanta “The Gayest City in America.” So, we can assure you that Atlanta is a great place to be out.
Learn more about Emory Law at http://www.law.emory.edu/2010brochure. Then, visit http://www.law.emory.edu/admission to schedule a campus visit. You will experience an uncommon dedication to our students combined with a strong community that will sustain you throughout your legal career.
We look forward to meeting you.
