Congrats as well. Is it a strong contender of yours? I heard life at NU is quite sociable when compared to U of C. Will you be attending ASW? I've never been to Chi-town before.californiauser wrote:congrats girlAAJD2B wrote:Ditto with the acceptance. Congrats to both of you. Good good stuff.
@california, don't worry. The wait's just going to make it that much sweeter when you in later on down the line.
Also I'm not sure, but now I assume you'll be able to use scholly money in negotiations with Columbia since you're not bound by ED anymore. Or are you still bound even after they defer you to regular decision?

They run a variety of programs for minority students placing them with internships at top firms that usually lead to jobs. You should check them out.

Speaking of SEO, did anyone attend the webinar yesterday? It was apparently for people who have already applied too, but it was at 1pm... And I work. Trying to figure out if I missed anything... Like when we can expect to hear back. When I applied, they said people had already started being interviewed (I applied Oct. 31), and now I'm sad that it's been crickets, excepting this promotional stuff.

If a rec sent a lor by mail, does the status change once they make an account and acknowledge they are mailing one or when LSAC receives it and puts it in? Anyone know?

Re: URM 2013-2014 Cycle Thread
It depends on which other schools I get into. I'd like to visit at least 3 ASWs, as of right now NU is my only T14, so I would be going. We'll see. Are you going for sure? I know it's in a great spot of Chicago so that's a huge plus for me.AAJD2B wrote:Congrats as well. Is it a strong contender of yours? I heard life at NU is quite sociable when compared to U of C. Well...I can probably kiss my Columbia acceptance goodbye. I looked over my submitted application, and I said in my addendum "I hope the admissions committee at Yale Law School considers this...."

Looking at my CAS report the majority of LSAT takers from my school scored in the 0-19 percentile. Would this boost my application any if my score is higher than that?
