Congrats everyone on those acceptances!!!!
With my GPA, I think this go around I will settle for any T14 but in a perfect world it would be Chicago>Penn>>>NYU>>>>>>>>>>All other non-HYS T14

Re: URM 2013-2014 Cycle Thread
well now that we've settled the 20%more question, what's the deal with WLs? do URMs get in straight, or do they go WL->accept for the most part? I'm asking because some schools don't take people off the WL until the summer, and people may stop updating their LSN profiles before then. so we have no idea if some of the URMs stuck on WL @ hccn for example eventually got offBlack_Swan wrote:Have been wondering this as well. I also remember he was still finishing a graduate program or something. The good news is there are more applicants with similar circumstances this cycle. But personal background details still matter a lot. We will see how things play out!staples88 wrote:I was looking through the 12-13 urm results thread and it looks like most people with 3.6+, ~164+ got on H's WL at least.
it'll take another go around to look at the date when these posters shared their results, but any idea of how well an applicant with #s in that range eventually gets off the WL?
there were a few people who got stanford but never got off H's WL despite having ~3.6, mid-to-high 160s.
also, any idea why twentypercentmore's unique situation (pretty sure it's common knowledge now but I won't say anything so as to not out him) hurts him so much? The 3.6 164 applicant I refer to above isn't helping most T14s on either number but still get in without a problem, so why s/he different from another applicant who doesn't help either stat?

Yea I did. That was my last score. That horrible score plus a recommendation from someone to look at TLS gave me reason to retake.californiauser wrote:I thought you retook the LSAT?wlee1220 wrote:Yep...KingJamesLBJ wrote:Are those legit numbers in your profile?wlee1220 wrote:Congrats everyone on those acceptances!!!!

I'm only seriously considering Vandy or UGA, I prefer to stay in the south.marshmallow456 wrote:You have some great options already! Congrats! And thanks for the appropriate sentence stem Monk, ill be sure to use it next time.
For sure. KT, AA Male been accepted into NYU, Berkeley, Duke, GULC, Georgia and Vandy.

Google Law School recommendation examples, and make sure the letter proves they know you personally, not just that you received a good grade in the class.KingJamesLBJ wrote:Alright guys I need some help. From what I've heard... it's really easy for adcomms to see that you're the one writing it. The advice I have seen is to make it comparative, and describe the class/ academic setting -was it hard, was there research etc. Talk about a flaw is also a good way to make sure that they don't think you wrote it.KingJamesLBJ wrote:Alright guys I need some help. Lebron was easily in the top 1% of students i have ever taught, he routinely set curves, and was at the top of my class. I know he left cleveland and that he will always be tainted by the fact that he joined another HOF'ers team, never won a ring on his own, and has a terrible receding hairline, but I feel that his ability to succeed in LS is pretty good.
Shiz like that
