Re: URM 2015-2016 Cycle Thread
Has anyone done any interviews (on or off campus) for any of the schools they're applying to? I'm eventually doing one with NU and praying for a JS1.
Also, in an attempt to get this thread going a bit, what schools have captured your imagination the most? For reasons other than ranking, of course.

Re: URM 2015-2016 Cycle Thread
I hope to either snag USC or Texas. My reasons are mainly because I want to either practice in LA or TX. I'm not really caught up in the whole T-14 or bust phenomenon which seems to plague some users. I just want to be a lawyer and will work my butt off to make sure that happens regardless of where the stars align.AshburtonGrove wrote:Has anyone done any interviews (on or off campus) for any of the schools they're applying to? But honestly if I got into all of the T14 (except HYS) I would love to go to Michigan all things withstanding. It just feels like home. It's a beautiful campus, great faculty, could easily go back to my hometown of Chicago, collegiate environment. It's just great.

I've had a Northwestern interview on campus...but that's pretty much it. And for the sake of my own sanity, I'm not trying to hedge my bets anywhere and just keep an open mind until I have all of the information and the cycle is done.

I'm hoping to press submit on the majority of my applications by next Wednesday. I'm still waiting on one of my recommendation letters to be submitted however. It would be really nice to go into Thanksgiving with them submitted...fips tedora wrote:have yet to apply. i should be complete by the new yeartvu wrote:Anybody hear back from schools yet?

Re: URM 2015-2016 Cycle Thread
Hi!
Long time lurker, finally decided to post on here as I am applying for the Fall 2016 cycle. I saw the community of URM here and it encouraged me to post. The admission stories I see here definitely have helped me, so I'm posting my journey as a way to hopefully help others. I am wishing everyone luck this application cycle!
AA Female
Decent softs (Mentorship experience, Classroom/Campus based social justice work, parents did not attend college)
GPA 3.56 (Top 25 University)
LSAT 165
Social science/humanities major
I'm worried because I had to take a semester off school due to some personal issues. I'm looking at applying to Vandy, GT, Duke, Columbia, NWestern, WUSTL, UGA, Emory, GSU, Howard, BU, Cornell, among others. What are my chances at admission and decent aid?

Finally finished drafting all my application essays! I still have to edit them, but it's such a relief to have the main body of work for each of them done.

Thanks!tvu wrote:I think you have great chances at all the schools you listed with your current stats. I think you should retake the LSAT if you want higher chances at Duke/Columbia and more $$$ at the others, a few points will really help!bellanoche2019 wrote:Hi!

Navigate a bit through MYLSN (like the above poster said), because it will give you a good idea of the people who got in with your numbers, Best of Luck!!

Re: URM 2015-2016 Cycle Thread
Hi Guys, long time lurker here. Quick question: does getting into Duke PT give a good indication of my chances throughout the t14?
My stats and softs are in my profile.
I heard back from Duke 9 days after applying and got in but I was curious whether I could use that acceptance to gauge my cycle. I am an AA male with a 3.3 from a top LAC and 168 LSAT. I have pretty solid softs and applied to the following:
Harvard
Yale
Stanford
Columbia
NYU
Duke
UPenn
UVA
Berkley
Georgetown
UMD
and a few other t25/50 schools
I sent these apps out on 11/2. Thanks in advance for the advice

In at George Washington ($75000) and Georgetown!
Anyone know when GULC gives out their scholarship info?
